In wireless ad-hoc networks, there are several characteristics different with wired networks. The differences are changing of network topology, limited resources like bandwidth and energy and so on. In these days as the energy issue becomes more important, it is required to research about the efficient resource allocation methods optimized in wireless networks. In the paper, we improve LAR (Location-Aided Routing) which is one of the most famous location based routing methods. This kind of technique uses information about the location of mobile node through GPS technique. Our new protocol considers both areas of routing and energy. At first, propose a more efficient routing method which minimizes the spread of unnecessary control messages. Secondly, an energy aware method is proposed to select proper transmission power by the distance between nodes. And finally, we make a new function to select next hop which considers both of distance and energy. The result of simulation shows that performance of lifetime is improved about 12% compared with LAR.

In this letter, we propose a new energy efficient online routing algorithm for QoS-sensitive sensor networks. An important design principle underlying our algorithm is online decision making based on real time network estimation. This on-line approach gives adaptability and flexibility to solve a wide range of control tasks for efficient network performance. In addition, our distributed control paradigm is practical for real sensor network management. Simulation results indicate the superior performance of our algorithm between energy efficiency and QoS provisioning.

It is difficult to apply other criteria techniques into wireless sensor networks. Since, sensor nodes are generally very small and have scarce resources. The energy efficient routing to prolong the life time is the major research issue in wireless sensor networks. Many researches proposed cluster-based schemes to reduce energy dissipation. These schemes have to maintain the information of overall nodes or create an imbalanced cluster formation. To solve these problems, we propose a self-organized clustering based on the multi-hop routing. In our proposed scheme, clusters are organized efficiently through the extension of clusters in distributed way without any location data. According to performance evaluation using NS-2, the proposed scheme increase the network lifetime longer than the previous schemes.

New multimedia services over the cellular/WLAN overlay networks require different Quality of Service (QoS). Therefore, efficient network management system is necessary in order to provide QoS sensitive multimedia services while enhancing network performance. In this paper, we propose a new online network management scheme that implements bandwidth reservation, congestion and transmission control strategies. Our online approach to network management exhibits dynamic adaptability, flexibility, and responsiveness to the current traffic conditions in multimedia overlay networks. Simulation results indicate the superior performance of our proposed scheme to strike the appropriate performance balance between contradictory QoS requirements under widely varying diverse traffic loads.

ABSTRACT The LEACH does not use flooding method for data transmission and this makes low power consumption. So performance of the WSN is increased. On the other hand, QoS based algorithm which use restricted flooding method in WSN also achieves low power consuming rate by reducing the number of nodes that are participated in routing path selection. But when the data is delivered to the sink node, the LEACH choose a routing path which has a small hop count. And it leads that the performance of the entire network is worse. In the paper we propose a QoS based energy efficient clustering and routing algorithm in WSN. I classify the type of packet with two classes, based on the energy efficiency that is the most important issue in WSN. We provide the differentiated services according to the different type of packet. Simulation results evaluated by the NS-2 show that proposed algorithm extended the network lifetime 2.47 times at average. And each of the case in the class 1 and class 2 data packet, the throughput is improved 312% and 61% each. Keywords:Sensor Networks, Cluster, Routing

Over the years, the widespread proliferation of multimedia services has necessitated the development for an efficient network management. However, during network operations, traffic contention for limited network bandwidth may occur. Congestion is one of the most intense problems for more bandwidth consuming multimedia service. In this paper, we investigate the role of adaptive online pricing mechanism in order to manage effectively the network congestion problem. Our on-line approach is dynamic and flexible that responds to current network conditions. With a simulation study, we demonstrate that our proposed scheme enhances network performance and system efficiency simultaneously under widely diverse traffic load intensities.
