ADSORPSI ZAT WARNA TEKSTIL REACTIVE RED 141 PADA TANAH LIAT LOKAL ALAMI

The adsorption performance of natural local clay for color removal of aqueous solution containing Reactive Red 141 (RR 141) textile dye was carried out in this study. The natural local clays which investigated as alternative low cost adsorbents in this study were originated from Arcamanik, Citatah and Dago (Bandung, Indonesia). The investigated aspects consist of effect of adsorbent dosage, c ontact time and initial concentration of dye solution. The adsorption process mechanism was evaluated by using isotherm model, kinetic and thermodynamic parameter. Results of this study show that the increase of color removal efficiency and the decrease of clay adsorption capacity was found at higher adsorbent dosage and lower initial dye concentration. The optimized adsorbent dosage for of Arcamanik, Dago and Citatah clays were achieved at dosage of 10 g/L;10 g/L; and 8 g/L respectively, with respective c olor removal as 65.9%; 65.9%; and 76.6%.
