This paper presents a work in generating Weighted Vector for each Concept in Indonesian Translation of Quran (ITQ). This task is done in aiming to provide a resource needed in implementing a semantic-based question answering system (QAS) for Indonesian ITQ, particularly in retrieving semantically related verses. Semantic approach on QAS employs Ontology concepts of the domain. Since there is no Ontology for ITQ remains, we built one by utilizing the existing Ontology from Quranic Arabic corpus (http://corpus.quran.com/). Furthermore, each leaf concept that enriched by related Quran verse (as its instance) had a representation vector of terms that occur in the corresponding Quran verse to express how strength the concept in relates with verse terms. This vector is assigned with a weight resulted from applying TFIDF method. From 222 leaf concepts in the Ontology, we applied the process only to those that categorized as a member group of Person, Location, and Time named entity. They are 107 in a total. The result shows that the most strength concept in association with verse terms is syaitan which is scored at 0.895 of 1. In overall, 16.82 % concepts had score that more than 0.4, following by 14.95%, 23.36% and 11.21% concepts scored at more than 0.3 ,0.2 and less than 0.1 respectively, and finally the rest ones were the biggest in volume where 33.64% concepts obtained score more than 0.1 and less than 0.2.

This paper presents a pilot study to validate quantitatively an information system IS project success model. In terms of its continual research, the model was evaluated qualitatively using focus group study FGS conducted earlier in the research. This study was also aimed to explain an IS project success performance and its factors that affect the project implementation in the sampled institution. Despite that the findings and its recommendations can only be considered in the context of the pilot study, this research had highlighted the complementary, completeness, and comprehensiveness of the model validation through mixed-methods approach. Such findings had become the main contribution of this study, among others, that is to fill the gap in the literature of the lack of comprehensive detail of model validation through mixed-methods.

Sentence boundary detection is essential for natural language processing (NLP). Sentence boundary detection in the Indonesian language has lots of problems, which includes punctuation, abbreviation, and character in the bracket. The disambiguation should be detected as sentence boundary. Thus the sentence boundary system can divide the sentences accurately. This study presents the development of a training dataset for the existing model to optimize supervised sentence boundary detection for the Indonesian language. Indonesian Translation of the Quran (ITQ) data set was used in this study by using the supervised method. The following is the process briefly: create the training data, apply sentence detection to separate sentences on ITQ, and calculate precision, recall, and F-measure. The result is quite promising, it gives as follows: Precision of 91.7%, Recall 81.6%, and F-Measure 86.4 %, respectively.

Assessment of a questionnaire is one of the significant stages of the information system (IS) survey studies, especially which adopt the instrument from the previous works. It is related to what the new questionnaire is appropriate to the studies. Besides, it is clear that the IS research fields have been growing since the early era and the contextual differences among the industrial sectors and countries, the methodological questionnaire assessment literature also relatively seems on the limited number. Accordingly, studies on this topic are still indispensable. The purposes of this study were to assess the psychometric properties of the end-user computing satisfaction (EUCS) questionnaire and to understand the instrument by considering the responsiveness and cognition of the respondents. The objectives were to perform the assessments based on the respondent perceptions and the researcher perspectives. The population was the users of an Academic Information System (AIS) in the sampled university in Indonesia. The samples were collected using the blended survey. The partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and brainstorming techniques were implemented sequentially in the analysis stage. The results revealed 8 of the 38 questions were recommended to be rejected. The study may not contribute theoretically to the field; but it may share the practical and methodological points of the EUCS questionnaire assessment.

This paper discusses some attempts conducted to improve performance of Question Answering System for Khulafaa Al-Rashidin (Caliphs) history (called as QAKH). Experiments done on QAKH in 2012 showed that only 61,67% questions got a correct answer. The one contributed in this achievement was lack of Indonesian stemming process that implemented by utilizing Lucene library. It was found that Lucene did over stemming on some Indonesian word in indexing phase, so that it was delivered impacts on passage retrieval and answer extraction as well. We tried to implement two approaches in order to solve that problem. As the first, we used other library for doing stemming process for Indonesian words that developed by Information Retrieval laboratorium in University of Indonesia. In any case if there is no answer delivered, we shifted to the second approach where there is no stemming process applied. Result of evaluation demonstrated a better achievement where we got 66,67% correct answers. Analysis of each fold of experiments also discussed.

This paper presents a work in developing a semantic-based question answering system (QAS) for Indonesian Translation of Quran (ITQ). This research is motivated by the lacks of previous built QAS that caused by a keyword-based retrieval. Instead of keeping the retrieval method, we shifted to a semantic approach where the retrieval process is done by using a semantic similarity measurement. In doing so, we built an ontology of ITQ to get the concepts as well as verses where they appear in. We applied three factoid question types on the QAS that including Who, Where, and When. Furthermore, a weighted vector for each concept that belongs to respective expected answering type (also called as named entity group) i.e. Person, Location, and Time is generated in order to feed semantic interpreter on user question. From 222 concepts defined from the ontology, we clustered them into 77, 24, and 6 concepts for Person, Location, and Time respectively. Since we found there are some characteristics of texts in ITQ, we developed our own modules to deal with including generate the inverted index and named entity recognition. Answer extraction is conducted by applying some features extraction in order to score the answer candidates. Evaluation of the system is designed by providing two data set of question and answer where the first one is purposed to measure the effectiveness of semantic approach comparing with keyword-based retrieval and the last one aims to know system performance in regard the appearance of concepts in ITQ.

Data center is a place where data and applications placed and run. Those data and applications saved various server based on function of application run such as server of database, proxy, portal, website, application, mikrotic and so on. The more vary application run, the more server types needed. There are several implications when data center encounter “server flood”, including more electrical energy must be provided. In addition to the relationship between energy and the utilization rate is still low, there is still one problem faced by system administrators with the number of servers in the data center, the more the server to be maintained. The maintenance requirement is usually done as a result of periodic maintenance, hardware upgrades, system upgrades and hardware damage. The maintenance process requires a fairly long time, starts from new server preparation, application and system preparation, and also on the network side. The solution that can be done to solve this situation is by using virtualization (VM) of the servers. After several processes, such as categorization process, consolidation, design and implementation, the results made are by using VM terms of energy consumption, it can provide a savings of more than 50%. We conduct the virtualization concept on Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University of Jakarta (UIN Jakarta) as our case study. Before VM applied, the consumption of energy used is equal to 7855 watts, whereas after VM applied energy consumption will be 3890 watts. Efficient data center management can be applied and can save time for maintenance. Before the use of the VM, the time required to process improvement at least 3 hours, but after the use of VM takes just less than 1 hour.
