The test pavements using recycled porous asphalt are performed in each research institute, but drainage asphalt pavements are manufactured only with new material now, because the technology of recycling is not established. However, drainage asphalt pavements also need to consider to use of recycling aggregate from now on. Then, we examined the reproduction of porous asphalt mixtures with two kinds of aggregate, the recycling aggregate of drainage pavements, and conventional reproducted aggregate. Consequently, we showed clearly that each of two methods can put in practical use.

In the previous study on the effect on improving water permeability and restraint of voids blocking of topcoat for porous asphalt, it was found that depend on the condition for the spray application of resin, there are oppositely some possibility to lead to accelerate voids blocking. In this study, in addition to wetting properties between the resin applied and water (surface tension against water, γsl), adhesional wetting properties (work load of water, Wa, etc.) between the resin and asphalt mixes surface during application were discussed, and the mechanism of the voids blocking during application and its recovery performance were investigated, and appropriate application methods were suggested.

This report is concerned with the mix design method for porous cement concrete which can be used for drainage surface layers compacted with rollers.Firstly, we state the usefulness of newly developed consistency and workability evaluation tests, then proposed the rational design method for mix proportion by applying the evolution tests and devised mix model.

The depression of the freezing point is achieved when powder-type chloride compounds contained in asphalt pavements dissolve on ice-covered pavements. Since the use of studded tire was prohibited in Japan in 1985, countless experiments were undertaken to test deicing pavements in winter to ensure traffic safety below the freezing point. The rapid decrease of the deicing capacity of a certain number of deicing pavements, as well as the short lasting deicing properties were met with skepticism. In the present study, the improvement of long lasting deicing properties are discussed in detail. Furthermore, means of evaluation of deicing pavements are also part of the discussion.

In this study an excellent non-plastic, wear and wheather resistant gap-type mixture has been developed in creating a skid resistant rugged surface. Mainly the coarse aggregate quantities, as well as the binder were examined in this study considering road revision construction work in cold regions. When small non-plastic elements are contained in the lower layer, cracks will hardly form. The increase of the asphalt layer bending was also examined.
