Synthesis of fluorinated materials catalyzed by proline or antibody 38C2 in ionic liquid

Tomoya Kitazume; Zaiju Jiang; Kana Kasai; Yuma Mihara; Mamie Suzuki

Abstract The utility of reusable ionic liquid–proline (or aldolase antibody 38C2) reaction system, proceeding the aldol reactions, is described. Further, obtained α-chloro-β-hydroxy compounds were transformed to the optically active α,β-epoxy carbonyl compounds. The aldolase antibody 38C2–ionic liquid system was able to reuse in Michael additions and the reaction of fluoromethylated imines.

Structure-Activity Relationship Study of the Bacterial Actin-Like Protein MreB Inhibitors: Effects of Substitution of Benzyl Group in S-Benzylisothiourea

Noritaka Iwai; Takuya Fujii; Hirokatsu Nagura; Masaaki Wachi; Tomoya Kitazume

We comprehensively investigated the effects of substitution of the benzyl group in S-benzylisothiourea derivatives on antibacterial activity, because we found previously that some substitutions enhanced it. A 2,4-Cl2-derivative was found to be the most effective compound, it was stronger than the original one in Gram-negative rod shaped-bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhimurium.

Journal of Fluorine Chemistry | 2002

Synthesis of fluoromethylated materials in ionic liquids

Tomoya Kitazume; Kenji Tamura; Zaiju Jiang; Noriak Miyake; Isamu Kawasaki

Abstract Syntheses of fluoromethylated materials via Michael additions with the Baylis–Hillman type reaction and the reaction of fluoromethylated imines with enamines in ionic liquid are described.

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters | 2011

Synthesis and antibacterial activity of alaremycin derivatives for the porphobilinogen synthase

Noritaka Iwai; Kyosuke Nakayama; Jumpei Oku; Tomoya Kitazume

The preparation and the antibacterial activity of alaremycin derivatives such as their CF(3)-derivatives and (R)- and (S)-4-oxo-5-acetylaminohexanoic acid for the porphobilinogen synthase (PBGS), were described. The IC(50) values of the antibacterial activity of the prepared materials for the inhibitor of PBGS, were determined using PBGS assay.
