Abstract l -(+)-Homophenylalanine hydrochloride was synthesized from N-phthaloyl- l -(−)-asparitc anhydride 2 in three steps in 55% overall yield with 99% ee.

Synthesis of C-7 oxidized abietane diterpenes from racemic ferruginyl methyl ether

A series of naturally occurring C-7 oxidized abietane diterpenes have been synthesized from racemic ferruginyl methyl ether in high yields. 6-Hydroxyl-5,6-dehydrosugiol (7) can be converted into stable xanthoperol (12) using high temperature. Among the products, the structures of sugiyl methyl ether (2) and 6(-hydroxysugiyl methyl ether (8) were determined by X-ray analysis.

Using chiral hydrogenesterification reaction as the key step, the stereoselective synthesis of (+)-nuciferal 1, (+)-(E)-nuciferol 2 and (+)-a-curcumene 3 has been achieved.

ABSTRACT A enantioselective total synthetic route to (+)-13-acteyl-12-hydroxy-podocarpane-8,11,13-triene-7-one 1a and (−)-13-acetyl-12-hydroxy-podocarpane-8,11,13-triene-7-one 1b from (S)-(−)-α-cyclocitral 8a and (R)-(+)-α-cyclocitral 8b was developed.

The title Schiff base compound, [Co( C13H10BrN2O)( CH3O)] ClO4, is a mononuclear cobalt(III) compound. The Co-III ion is coordinated by two N atoms and one O atom from a Schiff base ligand, and by another O atom from a coordinated methanolate ligand, giving an approximately square-planar geometry.
