Phase I/II study of intravenous nedaplatin and intraarterial cisplatin with transcatheter arterial embolization for patients with locally advanced uterine cervical carcinoma

Nedaplatin, a platinum analog with less renal toxicity and similar efficacy for cervical carcinoma, recently has been shown to have a synergistic effect on cervical carcinoma lines in combination with cisplatin. To determine the clinical efficacy of this combination in patients with cervical carcinoma, the authors conducted a Phase I/II study of intravenous nedaplatin and intraarterial cisplatin combined with transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE).

A case of endometrioid adenocarcinoma developing 8 years after conservative management for atypical polypoid adenomyoma.

•Endometrioid adenocarcinoma may develop during the long-term follow-up of APA.•Atypical polypoid adenomyoma is a precursor of endometrioid adenocarcinoma.•Careful follow-up is needed for the conservative management of APA.

Sertoli-stromal cell tumor of the right ovary: radiological-pathological correlation

A case of Sertoli-stromal cell tumor of the right ovary is reported. The patient was a 50-year-old perimenopausal woman with abdominal distention due to a large pelvic tumor. She had no signs of androgen excess. A large solid sponge-like tumor with multicystic areas throughout, in which there were some small hemorrhagic spots, was shown on magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. No endometrial thickening of the uterus was seen. Pathology examination revealed a Sertoli-stromal cell tumor with intermediate-to-poor differentiation. The edematous, watery, sponge-like appearance on the MR images correlated with the pathological findings.

Case report of uterine cervical endometrioid adenocarcinoma showing differentiation into both clear cell adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma.

背景: 類内膜腺癌, 明細胞腺癌, 扁平上皮癌の組織像を示す子宮頸部癌の症例を経験したので報告する.症例: 症例は, 53歳女性.子宮膣部に出血, びらんを伴うカリフラワー状の腫瘤が認められ, 組織生検では, 明るい細胞質を持つhobnail状の細胞の乳頭状増殖を示す明細胞腺癌, 明細胞腺癌様の細胞もみられる類内膜腺癌および扁平上皮癌が認められた.数回の子宮頸部i擦過細胞診において, 敷石状配列を示し, 厚みのある細胞質を持つ扁平上皮癌細胞集団, 重積性を示し腺腔構造もみられる腺癌細胞集塊, および明るい豊富な細胞質, 微細穎粒状クロマチンがみられ核小体の明瞭な大小不同の核を持つ明細胞腺癌細胞のシート状集塊が認められた.結論: 本症例の経験から, 詳細な細胞診により, 多彩な組織型の子宮頸癌の存在も推定することが可能であると思われる.
