Andréa Rechineli; Eline Porto; Wagner Wey Moreira

Given the various research on issues of people with disability and their bodies, this essay aimed to analyze the human being whose body was classified as deficient in the past, efficient at present and different in the future. Consulting various authors, we present a historical retrospective of the disabled body in the past, an analysis of the main Physical Education approaches in dealing with the efficient is body and a reflection on the body seen as different in the future. In the past, the literature confirms the exclusion of disabled bodies, historically marginalized as inferior bodies, underestimated, stigmatized for decades. As soon as they are given opportunities to participate, this view changes to efficient bodies. In the future, the assumption is of different bodies, respected in their complexity, understood as human beings, in their full capacity to think, feel, learn, transferring through movement in time and space with clear intention, whereby they will be able to live their own story as they seek to overcome limitations, transcending every opportunity they experience.

REFLEXÕES SOBRE CORPOREIDADE NO CONTEXTO DA EDUCAÇÃO INTEGRAL

Luiza Lana Gonçalves-Silva; Maria Celeste Reis Fernandes de Souza; Regina Simões; Wagner Wey Moreira

By problematizing the Cartesian paradigm, the body has been the object of attention in the educational field. In the current scenario that moves towards the expansion of the school day, this is a relevant matter. This paper, of bibliographic nature, aims at contributing to this debate by seeking elements to analyze the concept of body present in integral education movements in the country and in the Programa Mais Educacao (More Education Program), using the corporeality proposition suggested by Merleau-Ponty. Conclusions of this analysis enable reflecting that the division between body / mind remains in these movements; and in the More Education Program it is possible to catch a glimpses of advances towards corporeality. However, full time school may not be structured in the juxtaposition of curricular activities in proposals for expanding school hours. Rather, it must provide a comprehensive view of the student body, which is why we list arguments in favor of a learning corporeality as a possible foundation for integral education experiences.
