This paper examines the factors that influence Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) adoption in Malaysian government. This research focuses on one of the Malaysian e-Government project which has been selected as the case study for this research. The case study analysis is to investigate the prioritization of EAI factors by using Miles & Huberman [1] scale and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique. The study of these factors is based on EAI adoption model in LGA that proposed by Kamal et al. [2]. The results are comprised through a series of tables which illustrated the prioritization for each factors. Therefore, this research outcome provides a guideline for Malaysian public sector for EAI adoption in e-Government project.

One of the oldest problem in data mining is the market basket problem, the search for meaningful associations in customer purchase data. Currently, the Sport Company has an issue on sport items arrangement in accordance with customer purchasing pattern. They noticed that, the sales of certain products become decrease when they made some arrangement to the shelves. The Sport Company do not have any available computerized mechanism to provide the best arrangement of item store at the retail store. Everything is done manually by the owner of the shop according their own style. This study intends to identify purchasing pattern of sport items by adopting data mining technique which is Market Basket Analysis. This data mining pattern will help the retailer to make a better arrangement of the products at the premise. Historical data is analyzed to identify associated items from purchasing data of customer that involved sales data, items data and order data. As a result from this research, the sports items will be arranged according to the best rules identified and propose a new pattern.

Human factors literature has stressed the importance of ergonomically good computer environment and computer usage as to avoid from ergonomic risk and illnesses. This paper aims to investigate the ergonomics awareness among university students. The data collected from the survey includes their prior knowledge about ergonomics, their current practice and their perception regarding ergonomic-related issues when using computer, as well as on ergonomic health risk. Questionnaires were distributed to 60 students. Result shows that there is a significant association between attending HCI course and having knowledge in ergonomics. Although these students know and understand the good principle of ergonomics, the results reveal that only half of them practice it. In terms of ergonomic awareness, the respondents are least concern on ergonomic risk of keyboard and mouse. The findings provide the current state of practice in computer usage environment. This finding indicates the need to educate students with ergonomic awareness.

Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) was introduce as a methodology or framework that used loosely coupled services or software components, enabling systems to be more flexible and cost-effective. However the adoption of SOA is still at the early stage in many organizations and may not be well understood due to the absence of a methodological framework that would explain influential factors of SOA adoption in organizations. Thus, the aim of this research is to investigate the key factors influencing adoption of Service Oriented Architecture within the private sector in Malaysia and propose a model that improves the decision-making process. Using quantitative approach, the data was gathered via empirical study and analyzed using SPSS and PLS graph tools in order to analyze factor and effect size. The findings showed that not all of the factors identified by previous researchers can be accepted by private sectors in Malaysia, where only nine out of eleven have significant influence to the adoption of SOA. The results extend our knowledge of why organizations should adopt SOA and what they need in order to achieve a high degree of SOA adoption.

Past research stated that the effectiveness of software engineering (SE) course is determined by theoretical knowledge, added with some practices and improved by the individual experiences [2]. An Information Systems Engineering programme, coded as CS226, has been introduced in Universiti Teknologi MARA in December 2000 with the aim to produce graduates who have extensive knowledge and skills in information technology mainly in software engineering fields. This paper describes a survey done to understand the undergraduate students’ habit in applying SE practices in developing IS projects. This research collected data by distributing questionnaires to 78 ISE students. The questionnaire consists of questions related to systems planning, systems requirement and analysis, system design and implementation and system testing activities. Data collected are then analyzed using SPSS and the result can be used to measure the effectiveness of the courses taught and improve flaws that exists in SE curriculum.
