This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of schema therapy and schema-focused mindfulness therapy on conflict resolution among Iranian married women who lived in Malaysia during ?2015-2016. The qualified participants included 96 women who were assigned randomly into three groups, i.e. two experimental groups and a control group. The first experimental group received schema therapy and the second group received schema-focused mindfulness therapy while the control group did not receive any treatment. The treatment sessions lasted nearly three months using conflict resolution subscale from the ENRICH questionnaire, a demographic questionnaire and Youngs schema questionnaire as the instruments. Two-way repeated measures ANOVA was also applied to analyze the results. The findings of the study revealed that schema therapy and schema-focused mindfulness therapy had a significant effect on conflict resolution of Iranian women in Malaysia. Moreover, the findings showed more improvement for schema-focused mindfulness therapy group at two months follow-up.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effects of demographic factors and brain wave quality on performance strategies among athletes. The demographic factors such as gender, years of study, and years of involvement in sports play an important role in the use of performance strategies in determining their performance strategies in sports. The instruments used for this research is the Test of Performance Strategies (TOPS) to measure the performance strategies. The findings have revealed that there were significant differences in the performance strategies by the demographic factors as follows; gender at t (21) = 13.75; p < .05; years of study at t (21) = 9.46; p < .05, and years of involvement at t (20) = 11.37; p < .05. In addition, there were also significant differences in the sub factors of the performance strategies such as goal setting, relaxation, activation, imagery, self-talk, attentional control, emotional control, and automaticity. Based on the finding from the qEEG application, in the stroop effect tasks, the Beta and Gamma wave had the tendency to dominate the Frontal region (Fp1,Fp2), somatosensory area (C3,C4) which related to the development of the psychomotor skills and visual spatial area (P3,P4) and O1 and O2. The athletes have less thought process in seconds prior to the shot and have quieter mind than the non-athletes. It could be inferred that the athletes needed to be calm and relaxed while facing their challenge so that they could focus on their target and performance. The implication of this research includes the brain wave quality and effect on the performance strategies. The improvement in the brain quality (Alpha, Beta and Gamma) wave would assist the athletes to perform.

Abstract School counselors’ role in the formation and transformation of the Malaysian education system is indispensable. This study employs the Social Cognitive Theory to examine the relationship between the sources of counseling self-efficacy and the Malaysian school counselors’ counseling self-efficacy. The Sources of Counseling Self-Efficacy questionnaire and the Counseling Self-Estimate Inventory were used on 541 school counselors nationwide, as the respondents. The result reveals mastery experience has the strongest relationship with counseling self-efficacy. Recommendations on how to strengthen self-efficacy are proposed.

Computers and online learning are rapidly becoming important components in fundamental curriculum of Malaysian educational systems. In Malaysia, the computer and online learning curriculum have been incorporated into all levels of the educational systems. However, the instructional effectiveness of computer and online learning are related to many factors including students’ attitudes towardsthese technologies. Hence, positive attitudes towards computers and online learning are important variables to be studied among pre-service teachers. The main purpose of this study is to examine the attitudes of pre-service teachers at Universiti Putra Malaysia toward computer and online learning and its relationships. In addition, the relationship between this attitudes and the usage of computer and online learning is also studied. The findings indicate that pre-service teachers have positive attitudes towards computers and online learning. The correlation between students’ attitude towards computers and online learning was significant.
