Subsystem boundary values methods for power system transient stability distributed simulation

Wang Chengshan; Zhang Jia-an; Wang Shouxiang

This paper studies the efficiency of power system transient stability distributed simulation and the methods to enhance the computation performance. With parallel in space scheme, power system is split into several subsystems. The bottlenecks in distributed computation are the low speed network communication and the mass times of boundary values exchange for subsystem time domain step solution. For that the iterative boundary values convergence property is the key factor to affect the efficiency, three boundary values methods (BVM) is presented to improve the subsystem solution convergence property. With the BVM, the necessary exchanging times of boundary values are reduced, the communication times for one time domain step is shorten and the distributed computation efficiency is improved.

Framework design of cloud computing technology application in power system transient simulation

Ge Leijiao; Wang Shouxiang; Ge Xianjun

In order to solve the power system transient simulation problem, which is caused by the contradiction between efficiency and accuracy due to insufficient calculation ability, this paper proposes a Cloud Computing technology application framework for power system transient simulation. Firstly, it expounds the characteristics and current situation of power system transient simulation, and points out the problems in its further development. Secondly, this paper introduces current research status of the cloud computing technology, and discusses the application of infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and system as a service (SaaS) in power system transient simulation. Thirdly, it constructs the overall structure, software architecture and application mode of the power system transient simulation based on cloud computing technology. This paper can provide a reference for the cloud computing application in power system transient simulation.

Switch configuration optimization meeting the requirement of self-healing

Zhou Jianhua; Yuan Yue; Sun Rong; Wang Shouxiang

Self-healing is the most important characteristic of the smart distribution system. Through the switch configuration optimization, the distribution network will not only satisfy the requirement of reliability and economy, but also has good self-healing property. This paper firstly proposes the self-healing evaluation index of distribution system, and then proposes the improved adaptive binary particle swarm optimization algorithm to solve the problems of switch configuration optimization meeting the requirement of self-healing, which builds the multi-objective function of self-healing capability and the comprehension cost, and considers the constraint of distribution systems. At last, the test system results verify the rationality of the model and the effectiveness of the proposed method.
