The palladium-catalyzed intramolecular C-H arylation reaction of N-(2-bromoaryl)ferrocenecarboxamides furnishes planar chiral ferrocene derivatives. TADDOL-derived phosphoramide ligands induce enantioselectivities ranging from 91:9 to 98:2 er.

Asymmetric Synthesis of P-Stereogenic Phosphinic Amides via Pd(0)-Catalyzed Enantioselective Intramolecular C-H Arylation

Lantao Liu; An-An Zhang; Yanfang Wang; Fuqiang Zhang; Zhenzhen Zuo; Wen-Xian Zhao; Cuilan Feng; Wenjin Ma

The palladium-catalyzed enantioselective intramolecular C-H arylation of N-(2-haloaryl)-P,P-diphenylphosphinic amides furnishes P-stereogenic phosphine oxide derivatives in 61-99% yield with 88-97% ee. The catalyst generated in situ from a TADDOL-derived phosphoramide ligand and Pd(dba)2 is optimum in terms of yield and enantioselectivities.

Synthesis of dendrimer-supported ferrocenylmethyl aziridino alcohol ligands and their application in asymmetric catalysis

Wen-Xian Zhao; Nian Liu; Gaowei Li; Dong-Li Chen; An-An Zhang; Min-Can Wang; Lantao Liu

A series of N-ferrocenylmethyl aziridino alcohol ligands bearing Frechet-type dendrimers were synthesized and applied in the asymmetric addition of diethylzinc to aldehydes affording chiral alcohols in excellent yields (up to 99%) and excellent enantioselectivities (ee, up to 98%). The ligands could be recycled and reused eight times for such a reaction with almost the original high reactivity and selectivity.

An easily available N -heterocyclic carbene–palladium(II) catalyst for Buchwald–Hartwig amination of aryl chlorides

Tao Wang; Kai Xu; Lantao Liu; Huanping Xie; Ying Li; Wen-Xian Zhao

An easily available N-heterocyclic carbene–palladium(II) complex was found to be an efficient catalyst for the Buchwald–Hartwig amination of aryl chlorides. Both secondary and primary amines were tolerated under the same reaction conditions. Under the optimal conditions, all reactions proceeded successfully to give the desired products in good to high yields within hours.Graphical Abstract
