Structure in β-delayed proton spectra of N=81 precursors

Abstract Intense peaks, superposed on a structureless spectrum, were observed in 151Yb β-delayed proton decay. It is shown that the peak and statistical protons follow the decay of the s 1 2 groundand h 11 2 isomeric states in 151Yb, respectively. It is concluded that the peaks, also seen in 147Dy and 149Er decays, are due to a low density of 1 2 and 3 2 levels at ≈ 4.5 MeV in the N = 82 daughters.

Radioactivities with 146≤A≤152 investigated at the OASIS facility; evidence for 147Tm β‐decay

A study of short‐lived nuclei near the 82‐neutron shell has been performed over the past two years at the SuperHILAC OASIS facility of Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Measurements of gamma, x‐ray, and positron emission in coincidence with protons have been made and are discussed. (AIP)

Beta-delayed proton activities: /sup 147/Dy and /sup 149/Er

K. S. Toth; D. M. Moltz; E. C. Schloemer; Frank T. Avignone; Y. A. Ellis-Akovali

The present paper discusses mainly the ..beta..-delayed proton spectra of /sup 147/Dy and of the hitherto unknown isotope, /sup 149/Er. However, following the submittal of the abstract for this conference we have now observed delayed protons following the decay of /sup 145/Dy. Additionally, we have identified a 0.5-s delayed-proton emitter and tentatively assign it to the new isotope, /sup 151/Yb.
