Efficient WCDMA digital down converter design using system generator

In this paper, the design and implementation of the digital up converter (DUC) on Xilinx FPGA for WCDMA is presented. A powerful system level design tool, Xilinx System Generator, is adopted to shorten the design cycle and increase the design productivity. The proposed DDC includes DDS, mixer and three cascaded stages of filters. Using Vitex-5 DSP48E slices, the maximum operation speed of the complex multiplier reaches 368.64MHz. The DDS submodule is designed and produced by Xilinx DDS Compiler. The remaining submodules of the DDC,such as the RRC filter and the half-band filters, are co-designed using MATLAB FDATool and Xilinx FIR Compiler with considerations of tradeoff between receive path requirements of WCDMA, algorithm and hardware implementation complexity. We have successfully verified the system generator module of the DDC using the MATLAB module of it. Finally, the DDC is implemented on Xilinx XC5VSX50T FPGA device. And its performance and costs are also addressed.

HIRFL Water Pressure Monitoring System Research and Design

The HIRFL system is the most advanced heavy ion research equipment in China. Every year, we use it to do a lot of important scientific experiments, so it is very important to ensure it safe operation, which is the responsibility Institute of Modern Physics Chinese Academy of sciences. In the HIRFL system, many of the magnet and power need water for cooling, so the water system plays an important role. This paper designs a water pressure monitoring system in order to guarantee the normal operation of the water system and provide chain protection. It can monitor the water pressure throughout to the HIRFL system in time, and intuitive computer display in the control room. This paper gives the theory design, and the concrete practice, and evaluates the effect after the field operation.

HIRFL-CSR Water Leakage Detection System Design and Research

HIRFL system is the most advanced Heavy Ion Research Facility in world; to protect its safe operation is the major responsibility of the Institute of Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. To process the situation of possible water leakage during the operation of equipments, we developed a water leakage detection system. The system can precisely detect the specific location of water leakage, and visually display on the computer in the control room remotely. The paper describes the theoretical design and practical, and assesses the effect of the field running. It has been successful early warning repeatedly water leaking avoid accidents, ensure the normal operation of the machine, since the system established in 2010.

The Technology of AIR Applied to Automation

With the development of Rich Internet Applications (RIA), Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR) was designed by Adobe as a cross-system running RIA program. However, AIR is designed for web2.0 applications, with limited ability of the access to the local computer, for example, the access to the local serial port, parallel port and so on. To avoid that, a service routine was designed and realized to change the access to serial port and parallel port from local API function to network using C++ program language. Help by this service routine, AIR can be applied in automation with its powerful socket function. An AIR serial debugging tools was designed successful through this service routine.

The Design and Implementation of the HIRFL- Cryopump Temperature Monitoring System

This paper mainly presents a HIRFL-Cryopump temperature monitoring system by describing the architecture of the whole hardware system and the designing of its software system. We use a self-designed protocol converter as a bridge to connect to a vacuum device. This converter can convert serial port signals to network signals which we need in the central control room. The software part is created in ForceControl configuration platform, so the driver development is one of the most important jobs in the software design process. The driver codes are debugged and passed in Visual C++. Through two years running, it shows that the driver is correct and efficient. Overall, we believe that this system provides a cost-effective monitoring service with acceptable user experience.

The Dipole Magnets Temperature Monitoring and Interlocking Protection System of HIRFL-CSRm

HIRFL-CSRm is a heavy ion synchrotron, named the main Cooling Storage Ring of Heavy Ion Research Facility of Lanzhou. Its role is to cool and accumulate the injected low energy ion beam, and then accelerate to high energy and extract. So, requirements for performance and safety of the magnet which directly affect the intensity and stability of ion beam is very high. This paper mainly state temperature monitoring and interlocking protection for the dipole magnets of HIRFL-CSRm to protect magnets, reduce the economic loss, and ultimately ensure safe running of HIRFL.

Its control and monitoring system is very complex and very important, directly determines whether HIRFL safe operation. This paper is to study its much control and monitoring system of temperature and humidity monitoring system. Began to study the basic structure of the hardware, a specific architecture and specific HMI is designed, as well as the situation in the field installation deployment.

The Design of Electro-static Septum Control System for HIFRL-CSR Main Ring

this paper presents the design of electro-static septum control system for HIRFL-CSR (Heavy Ion Research Facility of Lanzhou and Cooler Storage Rings) main ring. Systems hardware consists of serial-port distributor, motor controller, motor driver, step motor and electro-static septum. The remote PC via Ethernet sends control command to serial-port distributor and control the rotation of the motor to complete multiple multi-turn and stripping injection mode switching. The control software running in the PC is designed in Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 environment. The control system has simple structure, reliable performance, and is able to complete the main ring injection mode switching. The intended design specifications are achieved.
