Electrical resistivity of SiCZrB2 electro-conductive ceramic composites

SiC-ZrB2系導電性複合セラミックスについて, SiCとZrB2の体積比と複合材の抵抗率及び抵抗率の温度変化との関係を調べた. 試料はホットプレス法を用いて作製し, 抵抗率をPauw法を用いて室温と800℃の間で測定した. 結果を複合材の導電モデルと比較した. 複合焼結体の抵抗率は, SiC単独の場合の値からZrB2の体積率が増すとともに減少し, 30%以上のときにNi-Cr合金やステンレス鋼などと同等の値になる. ZrB2の体積率が40%以上のとき, 組成と抵抗率との関係は実効媒質理論によく合い, 系は相関性のない粒子配列を持つとみなせる. それ以下ではZrB2粒子のつながりを考慮する必要があり, 23%以上のところでパーコレーション理論が成り立つ. 抵抗率の温度変化には, 組成に応じてSiCの特性とZrB2の特性が組み合わさって現れる. この結果によれば, ZrB2の体積率がさらに小さい場合にも, ZrB2の部分的なつながりが系の抵抗率を低下させていることを考慮する必要がある.
