This study aimed to understand Capsicum frutescens growth and plankton abundance in aquaponics culture. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six treatments in triplicates comprising of treatment A (positive control using organic liquid fertilizer), B (negative control without fertilizer), C (drip irrigation aquaponics with a water debit of 100 ml/day/plant), D (drip irrigation aquaponics with a water debit of 150 ml/day/plant), E (drip irrigation with a water debit of 200 ml/day/plant), and F (drip irrigation aquaponics with a water debit of 250 ml/day/plant) was applied. The water used in treatments C, D, E, and F contained comet fish feces as fertilizer. C. frutescens growth and plankton abundance were observed. Analysis was conducted using analysis of variance for plant productivity and descriptive analysis for plankton abundance and water quality. The results of this study showed that the highest plant growth was seen in plants receiving F treatment with 50 ml/day drip irrigation. However, no significant difference was found when compared to the positive control with organic artificial fertilizer. Eleven types of phytoplankton and six types of zooplankton were found, with Stanieria sp. as the most abundant phytoplankton and Brachionus sp. and Epistylis sp. as the most abundant zooplanktons.

This study aim was to analyze the effect of Red Water System (RWS) probiotics application on water quality in aquaponic system. The research used experimental method using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and three replications. Treatment A: RWS 7.5 μLL-1/week without aquaponic probiotic, Treatment B: aquaponic without RWS probiotics, treatment C: RWS probiotic addition in aquaponic media at 7.5 μLL-1/week, treatment D: addition of RWS probiotics in aquaponic media at 10 μLL-1/week and treatment E: addition of RWS probiotics in in aquaponic media at 12.8 μLL-1/week. Parameters measured were pH, temperature, ammonia, nitrate and phosphate. The results showed that water temperature and pH relatively unchanged in all treatments. The addition of RWS probiotics did not improve the concentration of ammonia, nitrate and phosphate. In fact, the catfish culture with only aquaponic resulted lower concentration of ammonia, nitrate and phosphate than other treatment. The lowest value of ammonia, nitrate and phosphates was obtained in the experimental groups of aquaponic with RWS of 10 μLL-1/week (Treatment D). Treatment D has the lowest average ammonia of 0.50 ppm, reduced nitrate up to 60.78 % and temperature and pH relatively unchanged.

The Santolo beach is one of the tourism beaches in Regency of Garut, West Java, Indonesia. The position of Santolo beach which facing towards the Indian Ocean, caused limited water activities that makes beautiful scenery is the main attraction for tourists. This research aims to determine the value of aesthetic quality Santolo beach scenery based on the viewshed. Three analysis approaches are used to solve the research problem, that are the Kernel Density, the Viewshed Analysis and the Euclidean Classification. The results show there are 5 viewshed areas with an average area of 0.14 km2. Each viewshed has a varied aesthetic quality value between moderate to good. In generally the Santolo Beach can be developed become the coastal tourism.

Oil sludge as we know is one of hazardous petroleum waste that make a particular concern in the environment. Beside of Polyaromatic Hydrocarbon (PAH) oil sludge consist of several heavy metals such as lead and cadmium that can inhibit growth and development of plants and other organism. Cladosporium is one of fungi genera isolated from Tanjunguban oil sludge and known can produce bio-surfactants and tolerant in heavy metal stress. The treatment used is a combination of Cladosporium and Albiziamycorrhizal in two oil sludge concentration which is 30% and 35%. This study carried out for 60 days and contain of two steps. The first step is composting process by Cladosporium during 30 days and continued by Albizia for the phytoremediation process during 30 days. Parameters measured consist of content of lead and cadmium after 60 days treatment analyzed with Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method and colonization of AMF in Albizia root. The results showed that both of lead and cadmium have a bigger decrease at 35% oil sludge concentration. Cladosporium can decrease lead content at 17.94% and cadmium content until 32.22% after 60 days treatment. On the comparative, colonization of AMF in Albizia root reached 100% in all treatment along the decrease of lead and cadmium.
