Solar dryer with latent heat storage system was designed in order to solve the problems of continuity of solar drying. The system was used to dry grape. The results of experiment show that the dryer met the requirement of continuous drying. At solar radiation of 600Wm-2-900Wm-2 and ambient temperature range of 35-42¡æ, the solar collector instantaneous thermal efficiency is 56%, the minimum heating efficiency of collector is 70%, the average heat storage efficiency is 66%. The average consuming time of drying 1kg grape from 87.9% (wb) to 14%(wb) was 6 days.

In order to resolve the problems of medlar dehydration and improve the quality of dried fruit, the large scale solar-hot blast stove combined drying plant was designed according to the medlars characteristics and properties. The structural design, collector and control system design was completed and drying experiment of medlar was conducted. The results of experiment presented that the drying time reduced 1/3 and 20-40% energy saving compared with conventional drying equipment. The quality of dried fruit was excellence.

This paper took walnut shell as experiment material, under the conditions that the endpoint temperatures were 450¡æ,600¡æ and 750¡æ respectively. And the average heating rate was 150¡æ/h, the pyrolytic products of walnut shell indicated that, under a certain condition, with the increase of pyrolysis temperature, the walnut shell charcoal yield rate showed a downward trend, While the yield rate of vinegar was increased, the average yield rate of charcoal and vinegar were 30.28%and 45.61%respectively.

In this paper, Eucalyptus grand is ¡Á E.urophylla was pretreated under 100¡æ steam and boiling water conditions respectively, and then the pretreatment and untreated specimens were dried in a kiln in which the temperature was65¡æ and the pressure varied between 0.1MPa and 0.3MPaevery one hour. As a result, we got the conclusions that, both100¡æ steam and boiling water pretreatment could reduce wood moisture content significantly during treating process and the rates of 100¡æ steam pretreatment is 15.7% per hour which is higher than that of boiling water pretreatment which is 11.6%; Under the floating pressure condition, the drying rates of 100 ¡æ steam, boiling water pretreatment and untreated specimen are 0.97%, 0.98%, 0.86% per hour respectively which are much faster than that of the results of existing reaserches in this fields, When the moisture content of eucalyptus is above the fiber satuation point, the drying rates of pretreatment specimens are fast than that of untreated specimen, on the contrast, when the moisture content of specimens are below FSP, the drying rates of untreated specimans are much faster.
