The fabricated macroporous silicon with a porosity of 26.33% corrosion in NaOH solution was systemically investigated by open circuit potential measurements, linear polarization measurements, potentiodynamic polarization measurements, and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. Results show that the potential open circuit and linear polarization resistance decreases with the NaOH concentration increasing. The corrosion potential shifts significantly to more negative potentials and corrosion current density increases with NaOH concentration increasing. Adding ethanol to 1.0 M NaOH can lead to the linear polarization resistance decrease, corrosion potentials shift in the positive direction, and corrosion current density increase. In addition, the scanning electron microscopy images demonstrate that the macroporous silicon samples are seriously damaged by 1.0 M NaOH and 1.0 M NaOH/EtOH (30%).

Two new complexes, namely {[La(L3)3(2,2′-bipy)]n·H2O} (1), and [Zn(L3)2(4,4′-bipy)]n (2) (HL3 = o-hydroxy phenylpropionic acid, 2,2′-bipy = 2,2′-bipyridine and 4,4′-bipy = 4,4′-bipyridine), have been synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal diffraction analysis. 1 has a dinuclear motif, which is further linked into 2D layer via the hydrogen bond interactions. 2 shows 1D covalent zigzag chain constructed by 4,4′-bipy ligands. Furthermore, the luminescent properties of 1–2 show the mild emissive power and feature.

The environment-friendly hydrochloric acid pickling inhibitor was extracted from distillers grains (DG). By comparing a variety of extraction methods of DG, the effect of different extraction method on inhibition efficiency of extraction was investigated, and the inhibition efficiency for Q235 steel in hydrochloric acid medium was studied by weight loss measurements, electrochemical measurements and SEM. The results show that the distillers grains extract (DGE) acts as an excellent acid pickling corrosion inhibitor for the corrosion of Q235 steel in hydrochloric acid. The studies of inhibitor preparation methods show that the ultrasonic technology is the best method. The effective constituent of DGE is a mixed-type inhibitor in hydrochloric acid medium.
