An information model for process operation system integration based on XML and STEP standard

Zhihui Wu; Jinsong Tao; Yu Qian

For implementing the information resource management for process operation system integration development, an information model is proposed. Firstly, the product data is described by the data format language EXPRESS of the standard for the exchange of product. Secondly, the extensible markup language is used to communicate the STEP data to implement a distributed product information sharing model. Finally, the practicability and validity of the information model are verified through the application in the hydrodealkylation process.

A experimental platform for process operation system based on data integration

Zhihui Wu; Lei Li; Ming Pan

the degree of automation is high in process industry. In order to find solutions to complicated technical problems in chemical product development and manufacture process, an experimental platform is presented for process operation system information integration. In this paper, the theory and methodology of information integration of process industry is discussed. A data integration model is presented based on XML and STEP technology. An automatic chemical platform is implemented based on information integration method. And the features of the platform are introduced. As a research platform to manufacture product in kilogram-scale, was designed especially for fine and specialties chemicals in batches. The function of process operation is investigated in coupled with computer aided monitoring and operation process optimization. Finally, in order to verify the information integration approach and the performance of the platform, a case study on nipagin ethyl ester process is carried out.

Zhihui Wu; Ming Pan; Lei Li; Yu Qian; Jin Song Tao

in recent years, a new distributed computing technology, which proposes the features of cross-platform, language independent, loosely coupled interaction and integration of heterogeneous applications, is becoming an urgent need for process industries with the popularity of internet application. In this paper, a task model is presented for process operation system information integration. A web service technology is applied to task model, and its advanced function and features compared to the traditional distributed integration technology are introduced. A case study of a mini chemical operation platform is used to verify the practicability and validity of proposed task integration model.

A study on the software integration for solvent recovery system based on computer simulation

Zhihui Wu; Jinsong Tao; Yu Qian

For meeting the demands of chemical process simulation, an approach to integrating the defined software and the profession simulation software is proposed. Firstly, the paper developed the software integration framework for the chemical process operation system base on information sharing. Secondly, the corresponding models between defined software and common simulation software are developed based on ActiveX technology. Finally, the proposed approach and technology are verified through its application in the solvent recovery system. A unit of system is simulated with neural network, while other units are simulated by ASPEN PLUS.

Optimal scheduling of sequential multipurpose batch plants under several unexpected events

Ming Pan; Zhihui Wu; Lei Li

This paper presents new optimal strategies for the scheduling of sequential multipurpose batch plants under several unexpected events. The events include product release dates, rescheduling upon arrival of a new order, and the minimization of total earliness. To find the optimal solutions in complex situations, scheduling problem is formulated to an MILP model. A typical example is used to show that with the proposed strategies, the schedule of sequential multipurpose batch plants is more flexible in the varying market circumstances.

A study on chemical process control and optimization system development based on web services

Zhihui Wu; Lei Li; Ming Pan; Yu Qian

In process system engineering field, plant-wide optimization becomes an important research issue in relation to model based control strategy and software aided solution integration. A platform with the function of simulation, data analysis, and fault diagnosis for operation system optimal control is proposed. The function of five levels in the proposed platform is discussed. Web services technology is employed to integration the different process analytic software. With the key web services application, the dynamic integration and optimization control for chemical product development are realized. Finally, a case study is carried out on TE process to verify the proposed platform performance.

Notice of Retraction Process system integration with the application of web service and STEP standard

Zhihui Wu; Ming Pan; Lei Li; Yu Qian

For improving process system integration performance, an approach based on web service and STEP standard is proposed. Since the information integration is the basis of the system integration, an information model is discussed firstly. STEP standard is employed to describe the information in uniform format with EXPRESS modeling language. Secondly, with the application of web service, the process system integration approach is issued. The advances and features of the proposed approach are discussed. Finally, a case of the synthesis process of ethyl p-hydroxyl benzoate is studied to verify the practicability of the proposed process system integration approach.
