Miloš Milutinović; Aleksandra Labus; Vukašin Stojiljković; Zorica Bogdanović; Marijana Despotović-Zrakić

This paper investigates the possibilities in the area of application of mobile technologies for language learning. The primary goal is to design a mobile system for learning of the Japanese language with a clear separation of content and presentation, and to leverage the learners’ interest in the Japanese language. Both the technical and the language learning perspectives are discussed. A reusable, lightweight model of learning objects with compact content and a reduced metadata set is presented. These objects are stored in a simple learning object repository that can deliver them to any client over the Internet. A mobile application is designed to use the learning object repository as its content provider, while defining its own method of presentation suitable for smaller screens of mobile devices. For the purpose of evaluation, an experiment was conducted within the e-learning system at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Belgrade. Research findings have indicated that the developed mobile application has a positive effect on the students’ interest in the subject matter.

We examine stakeholder relationship management (xRM) of public service broadcasters. The readiness and expected benefits of xRM implementation are studied.Focus is on xRM channels: web portal, social media, interactive TV.Results show a huge potential for improvement of public broadcasters xRM. This paper examines the possibilities of enhancing relationship management between public service broadcasters and their stakeholders by harnessing the potential of newest e-business technologies and concepts, such as: social media, digital and interactive TV, and mobile computing. In order to facilitate adoption of relationship management strategy, a framework for leveraging relationship management is proposed. Evaluation was performed within the e-business system of a public broadcaster. This empirical study explored the readiness and expected benefits of relationship management implementation. The research results have indicated that a public broadcaster could achieve a higher level of social responsibility, improve business sustainability, and empower communication and collaboration with all the stakeholders by using emerging technologies for relationship management activities.

This study considers the effects of hydrostatic pressure on the line position and fluorescence lifetime τ for 5D0 → 7F2 transitions in GdVO4: Eu3+ nanocrystals. The results indicate that the pressure induced the red shift toward longer wavelengths for all the considered lines with different rate. The fluorescence lifetime τ nonlinearly decreases with pressure in the considered pressure range. High pressure induced the fluorescence lifetime τ that can be explained with a simple theoretical model. The measured line position and τ are in a satisfactory agreement with the theoretical calculations.

Emission spectra and decay properties of the 4G 5/2 level of Sm3+ ions in LaMgAl11O19:Sm3+ (LMA:Sm3+) have been measured as functions of pressure up to 100 kbar at room temperature. Changes of the positions of three considered fluorescence lines (560, 606, and 643 nm) under pressure are very small. The fourth one (594 nm) is practically insensitive upon pressure and has a red shift rate (RSR) close to zero. Fluorescence lifetime τ for the 594 nm line decreases non-linearly with pressure in the considered pressure range. Effect of the pressure on τ was described using a model which considered the change of the inter-ionic distance (r), ionic polarizability (α), and material refractive index (n) with pressure. Calculated pressure-induced change of the lifetime τ is in good agreement with the experimental data. Insensitivity of the lines position upon the pressure, and small RSR, leads to conclusion that LMA:Sm3+ can be the base for a new generation of solid state lasers with numerous applications.

Božidar Radenković; Marijana Despotović-Zrakić; Dušan Barać; Zorica Bogdanović; Aleksandar Milić

In this paper we present an approach to developing web portal for adaptive e-learning. Educational web portal is single access point to all relevant information, resources and applications in the education process. Web portal integrates different functionalities and services for adaptation of e-learning courses with existing learning management system Moodle. Integration includes: educational web portal users, information, processes and software platforms used in e-learning system. We describe architecture of the portal for adaptive e-learning, technologies, design and techniques applied in implementation of portals key components.

Supply chain intelligence for electricity markets: A smart grid perspective

Jelena Lukić; Miloš Radenković; Marijana Despotović-Zrakić; Aleksandra Labus; Zorica Bogdanović

Smart grid technologies are bringing innovations in electrical power industries, affecting all parts of the electricity supply chain, and leading to changes in market structure, business models and services. In this paper we introduce a model of business intelligence for a smart grid supply chain. The model is developed in order to provide electricity markets with the necessary data flows and information important for the decision making process. The proposed model offers a way to efficiently leverage the new metering architecture and the new capabilities of the grid to reap immediate business value from the huge amounts of disparate data in emerging smart grids. The model was evaluated for the Serbian electricity market in the electric power transmission company Public Enterprise “Elektromreža Srbije”. The results show that business intelligence solutions can contribute to a more effective management of smart grids, in order to ensure that companies achieve sustainability in the increasingly competitive electricity markets, while still providing the high quality services to end users.

This paper presents an approach for providing student relationship management services on cloud computing infrastructure. Main goal of the paper is to design reliable, comprehensive and cost effective infrastructure that enhances realization of educational and collaboration processes. Model of student relationship management based on cloud computing infrastructure is described in details. As a proof of concept, the model was implemented in the e-learning system of E-business Lab, at Faculty of organizational sciences, University of Belgrade. Results show that the implemented model contributes to better collaboration and communication between students and educational institution and increases performances of the educational process, as well.

Abstract This paper proposes a new web-based environment for learning discrete simulation. FONWebGPSS is an application that provides a web-based interface for creating, storing and executing discrete system simulation models in the GPSS language. The primary goal of the paper is to improve the process of learning simulation by integration of the FONWebGPSS in the existing e-learning system, Moodle. Evaluation of the developed integrated solution for learning simulation has been performed within an undergraduate course, Simulation and simulation languages, at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Belgrade on a testing sample of 208 students divided into an experimental and a control groups. The research results show that students achieve better results on the final test when using the FONWebGPSS application integrated into the e-learning system in comparison with the standard desktop version of the GPSS.

ABSTRACT This paper proposes and evaluates a model of crowdsourcing in microlearning that includes the balancing of collaborative learning and crowdsourcing mechanisms. The goal of the research is to implement a learner-centered approach through crowdsourced content creation and to improve the process and outcomes of learning. Crowdsourced content creation was accomplished through a collaborative project within a higher education institution. Micro-courses in the form of short video lessons were created by students and published on the Coursmos platform and a certain group of students attended these micro-courses. The evaluation was carried out at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, the University of Belgrade on a sample of 71 students who created micro-courses and 74 students who attended these micro-courses. The results show that the developed model provides simple communication and collaboration among students, high level of their self-organization and satisfaction, efficient management of crowdsourcing network and collaborative knowledge building.
