In this paper we study the no-wait or no-idle permutation flowshop scheduling problem with an increasing and decreasing series of dominating machines. The objective is to minimize one of the five regular performance criteria, namely, total weighted completion time, maximum lateness, maximum tardiness, number of tardy jobs and makespan. We establish that these five cases are solvable by presenting a polynomial-time solution algorithm for each case.

In this paper, fuzzy metric spaces are redefined, different from the previous ones in the way that fuzzy scalars instead of fuzzy numbers or real numbers are used to define fuzzy metric. It is proved that every ordinary metric space can induce a fuzzy metric space that is complete whenever the original one does. We also prove that the fuzzy topology induced by fuzzy metric spaces defined in this paper is consistent with the given one. The results provide some foundations for the research on fuzzy optimization and pattern recognition.

The expressions of 32 fuzzy coimplication operators(FCO) and 32 intuitionistic fuzzy implication operators(IFIO) are given in this paper. The Co-D-P properties which the FCOs should satisfy are presented. The FCOs and IFIOs’situation of satisfying the properties which they should satisfy, respectively, are discussed in details.

A modified ABS algorithm for solving a class of singular nonlinear systems,F(x)=0,F∈Rn, constructed by combining the discreted ABS algorithm and a method of Hoy and Schwetlick (1990), is presented. The second differential operation ofF at a point is not required to be calculated directly in this algorithm. Q-quadratic convergence of this algorithm is given.

We introduce and study a new class of generalized nonlinear mixed variational-like inequalities in reflexive Banach spaces. By applying Ding’s technique we prove several existence and uniqueness theorems of solutions for the generalized nonlinear mixed variational-likeinequality,extendtheauxiliaryproblemtechniquetosuggestandanalyzeaniterative method to compute the approximate solutions of the generalized nonlinear mixed variational-like inequality, and establish the convergence criteria of the iterative method. The results presented in this paper improve, extend, and unify many known results in this area.

A Server-Proxies-Users communication system is studied by using Stackelberg strategy theory of game. A new model, in which the server, proxies and users are not equal is established, and that is a threelevel programming. The solution existence of the model is proved.

Based on the recently developed ABS algorithm for solving linear Diophantine equations, we present a special ABS algorithm for solving such equations which is effective in computation and storage, not requiring the computation of the greatest common divisor. A class of equations always solvable in integers is identified. Using this result, we discuss the ILP problem with upper and lower bounds on the variables.

In this paper we present a second order PVT (parallel variable transformation) algorithm converging to second order stationary points for minimizing smooth functions, based on the first order PVT algorithm due to Fukushima (1998). The corresponding stopping criterion, descent condition and descent step for the second order PVT algorithm are given.

A necessary and sufficient condition for Demyanov difference and Minkowski difference of compact convex subsets inR2 being equal is given in this paper. Several examples are computed by Matlab to test our result. The necessary and sufficient condition makes us to compute Clarke subdifferential by quasidifferential for a special of Lipschitz functions.

In the paper, the (3+1)-dimensional Wick-type stochastic KP equation is considered. And the exact solutions for (3+1)-dimensional Wick-type stochastic KP equation are obtained via homogeneous balance principle and Hermite transformation.
