Polinômio dos quadrados mínimos condicionado

Since the least-squares polynomial fit is used very often, we study here a simple modification that is more suitable for some cases, that is, we constrain the polynomial to pass through a given point, besides satisfying the least-squares property. We include an implementation of the corresponding algorithm in MATLAB.

Violência e seus múltiplos condicionamentos históricos: perfil da mulher vítima de violência doméstica no Brasil, Rio Grande do Sul e Caxias do Sul

A brief review of studies on violence against women in Brazilian society signals that this social phenomenon is the result of various conditionings, since analyses have shown various correlations among the data. Given this, the aim of this article is to study the profile of women victims of violence in Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul and in Caxias do Sul, stratified by age, race and education degree. Quantitative analysis is done with the data of SINAM, RAIS, FIRJAN and IBGE for the year 2012. The analyses indicated that the profile of women victimized by domestic violence is comprised of children and young women up to 39 years, black or browns and with low schooling. There seems to be no immediate association between domestic violence and socio-economic development (measured by IFDM).

Uma breve discussão sobre a relação da educação com o crescimento econômico

The paper has as objective to verify the interconnection between education and economic growth. The selected variables were the amount of Higher Education Institutions and graduates, the links with Higher Education in the formal labor market, the remuneration and the value of Gross Domestic Product. Tools of descriptive and applied statistics are used to verify the relation that these concepts establish among themselves and the economic growth. It was observed that as it increases the numbers of workers with the Higher Education, the wage presents a downward trend.

Palatalização das plosivas alveolares em Flores da Cunha (RS): variação linguìstica e práticas sociais

A palatalizacao variavel das plosivas alveolares no portugues brasileiro falado em Flores da Cunha e moderada, o que contribui para caracterizar o falar local. A analise de regra variavel (LABOV, 1972, 1994, 2001) de dados de 48 entrevistas sociolinguisticas de Flores da Cunha do BDSer revela uma proporcao total de aplicacao de 29%. Os condicionamentos sao tanto linguisticos quanto sociais e a palatalizacao progride na comunidade: jovens, vogal alta fonologica, habitantes de zona urbana e consoante-alvo desvozeada favorecem a palatalizacao. Na analise da variacao como pratica social (ECKERT, 2000), o estudo da rede social dos informantes mostra que a alta densidade da rede, nucleada por informantes de grupos etarios mais velhos, refreia a palatalizacao. O estudo etnografico revela que os habitantes de Flores da Cunha, em especial os jovens, realizam praticas sociais inovadoras ao lado de praticas tradicionais, introduzindo a palatalizacao na comunidade. O emprego das formas palatalizadas e valorado como nao local e e relativamente prestigiado.

The article describes a computer program in MATLAB for obtaining a least-squares polynomial fit, constrained to pass through an arbitrary set of anchorage nodes, provided a sufficient number of freedom degrees is retained.
