USE OF VIRTUAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS: A THEORETICAL MODEL USING DECOMPOSED EXPECTANCY DISCONFIRMATION THEORY

Fernando Antonio de Melo Pereira; Anatália Saraiva Martins Ramos; Adrianne Paula Vieira de Andrade; Bruna Miyuki Kasuya de Oliveira

The present study aims to investigate the determinants of satisfaction and the resulting continuance intention in the e-learning context. The constructs of decomposed expectancy disconfirmation theory (DEDT) are evaluated from the perspective of users of a virtual learning environment (VLE) in relation to expectations and perceived performance. An online survey collected responses from 197 students of a public management distance learning course. Structural equation modeling was operationalized by the method of partial least squares in Smart PLS software. The results showed that there is a relationship between quality, usability, value and value disconfirmation with satisfaction. Likewise, satisfaction proved to be decisive for continuance intention. However, there were no significant relationships between quality disconfirmation and usability disconfirmation with satisfaction. Based on the results, it is discussed the theoretical and practical implications of the structural model found by the research.

The results showed that there is a relationship between quality, usability, value and value disconfirmation with satisfaction. Likewise, satisfaction proved to be decisive for the continuance intention use. Cloud Computing (CC) is a new paradigm in which capabilities and resources related to Information Technology (IT) are provided as services. This provision could be done via the Internet and on-demand, and is accessible without requiring detailed knowledge of the underlying technology. In this paper we assess different service platforms using cloud computing telemetry services. Using an OpenStack telemetry service, namely Ceilometer, we design experiments to assess the performance of different Platform as a Service (PaaS) setups for basic purposes (e.g. database and Web server). The assessment could be use to decide between common used platforms, comparing requisites of storage, processing time and processor load. Given the costs of each metric at a CC platform and the performance of each PaaS setup, the IT manager could choose the most advantage one.

Alem disso, nao houve consenso quanto a influencia do superior imediato.

Adoption of Storage Data Systems in Cloud: a study with end users

Adrianne Paula Vieira de Andrade; Gabriela Figueiredo Dias; Anatália Saraiva Martins Ramos; Manoel Veras de Souza Neto

The system of data storage is a service of cloud computing, that modifying the way that end users and companies use information technology. Although this phenomenon gets attention of professionals and the academic community, there are still few studies on the theme. This study aims to identify the factors influencing the adoption of online data storage systems based in the Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT). The sample of the research is composed by Brazilian users of Facebook

The advancement of the Internet pushed the creation of social media use which applies to various purposes. Whether for personal use and fun or for businesses and consumers avid for information, this new method of interaction is common in the daily lives of many people. The purpose of this article is to describe how social media can influence the purchases decision from a study with Facebook users. This survey, predominantly quantitative approach, was run with Facebook users in Brazil and presents an exploratory and descriptive feature. The sample is composed of 295 members selected by the criteria of convenience and data survey was conducted via an online questionnaire. From the results obtained, we can conclude that respondents use Facebook search for information about a product or service before the purchase and consumption, which shows the influence of this social network in the purchase decision process. THE BEHAVIOUR OF THE ADOPTION OF ELECTRONIC BOOKS COMPARED TO PRINTED BOOKS: A STUDY WITH USERS OF SOCIAL NETWORKS

Adrianne Paula Vieira de Andrade; Anatália Saraiva Martins Ramos

This study analyzes seven comparative aspects related to e-books and printed books and the differences in perception of these items regarding gender, age and experience. The data collection was done through a semi-structured online questionnaire, which 200 responses were obtained. The sample consisted of users of social networks. For data analysis, we used descriptive statistics and Mann-Whitney test. The environmental issue, convenience, price and the risk of damage and losses showed levels of agreement favorable to e-books, while the ability to share and loan was favorable to printed books. Men tend to agree more than women that the access and interaction with readers are more evident in e-books. Older people and most experienced believe that e-books are cheaper than printed, and e-books are more environmentally sustainable than printed versions only for the more experienced people.
