Fast determination of naproxen in pharmaceutical formulations by batch injection analysis with pulsed amperometric detection

A novel and fast electroanalytical method for naproxen determination in pharmaceutical formulations using batch injection analysis (BIA) with pulsed amperometric detection is described. Bare glassy carbon electrode was used as working electrode and 0.05 mol L-1 phosphate buffer solution as supporting electrolyte. The amperometric method involved the continuous application of two sequential potential pulses to the working electrode in order to detect naproxen by its electrochemical oxidation (+1.5 V for 200 ms) and to clean the electrode surface from adsorption products (+1.0 V for 100 ms), avoiding electrode contamination. The proposed method has several advantages for routine analysis, including: a low relative standard deviation between injections (3.0%, n = 10), high analytical frequency (90 h-1), satisfactory accuracy (based on comparative determinations by spectrofluorimetry) and low limit of detection (0.3 µmol L-1).

Parâmetros da reação de transesterificação etílica com óleo de milho para produção de biodiesel

Foram avaliados, a partir de um delineamento estatistico de um conjunto de ensaios experimentais, os efeitos (i) do tempo; (ii) da velocidade de rotacao; (iii) da razao etanol:triglicerideos; (iv) do tipo e (v) da quantidade do catalisador e (vi) da temperatura da reacao de transesterificacao de triglicerideos do oleo de milho com etanol. A magnitude do efeito devido a cada fator, individualmente, afetou o rendimento, em biodiesel, da reacao, na seguinte ordem decrescente de efeito (desconsiderando-se o sinal algebrico): quantidade de catalisador > razao molar > tipo de catalisador > velocidade de rotacao > tempo > temperatura. Avaliaram-se, tambem, as interacoes estatisticas entre as variaveis e suas correlacoes com os fatores principais da reacao.

Electrochemical Oxidation of Chlorhexidine and its Amperometric Determination by Flow-Injection Analysis

HClO 4 solution at a glassy-carbon electrode. The mechanism of the electrochemical oxidation of chlorhexidine is pH-dependent and involves a single-electron transfer possibly via radical cation formation. The FIA parameters were optimized and a detection limit of 0.3 µmol L -1 was obtained. The proposed method was applied in mouth rinses and skin disinfectants samples and compared with high-performance liquid chromatography.

Produção, caracterização e utilização de membranas de poliestireno sulfonado e polissulfona como catalisadores na reação de esterificação do ácido oleico.

O biodiesel e um biocombustivel renovavel e nao toxico que pode ser produzido pela reacao de esterificacao. Nesta reacao, sao usados catalisadores acidos e, devido as inumeras vantagens, os catalisadores heterogeneos estao ganhando espaco. Membranas de polissulfona (PSF) e poliestireno sulfonado (PSS) foram preparados para catalisar a reacao de esterificacao do acido oleico com metanol, produzindo biodiesel. Foram obtidos varios tipos morfologicos de membranas: densas, porosas e eletrofiadas. As condicoes de reacao foram: temperatura de 100 ° C, razao molar de 10:1 (metanol:acido oleico), 5% de catalisador e tempo de 2 horas. Atraves dos metodos BET e BJH foi possivel obter a area superficial das membranas, volume e tamanho do poro. O consumo de acido oleico e a formacao do ester sao confirmados pelas analises de CGMS e pelas bandas FTIR, respectivamente. Para as membranas que apresentaram o PSS, 2 horas de reacao foram suficientes para o consumo quase total do acido oleico, com excecao da membrana densa.
