UNLABELLED This research aimed to analyze the concept of self-management of hypertensive individuals. Theoretical and documentary study based on Walker and Avants conceptual analysis by means of the Scientific Electronic Library Brazil and the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online in the Coordination for Higher Education Personnel Development (CAPES, in Portuguese) and the National Library of Medicine websites. Fourteen (14) articles and one (1) thesis were selected and reviewed in Portuguese and English, in the period January 2007 to September 2012. BACKGROUND missing doctors appointments, non-compliance to blood pressure control treatment to recommendations to proper diet standards and stress. Attributer blood pressure control and disease management Consequences home monitoring of blood pressure with control improvement, accomplishment of disease management, compliance and sharing of the creation process of self-management goals and caring activities by the interdiscplinary team through individualized actions. It was concluded that the self-management concept is a dynamic, active process which requires knowledge, attitude, discipline, determination, commitment self-regulation, empowerment and self-efficiency in order to manage the disease and achieve healthy living.Objetivou analisar conceito de autogestao do individuo hipertenso. Estudo teorico pautado na analise conceitual Walker e Avant mediante as bases de dados Scientific Electronic Library Brazil e Medical Literature Analysis and Retrievel System Online. Foram selecionados e analisados 14 artigos e 1 tese, em portugues e ingles, no recorte temporal de janeiro/2007 a setembro/2012. Antecedentes: ausencia a consulta medica, falta de adesao ao tratamento do controle da pressao arterial, recomendacoes do padrao dietetico adequado e estresse. Atributos: controle da pressao arterial e gestao da doenca. Consequencias: monitorizacao da pressao arterial domiciliar com melhora do controle, realizacao de gestao da doenca, aceitacao e compartilhamento no processo criacao de metas de autogestao e atividades de cuidados pela equipe interdisciplinar mediante acoes individualizadas. Concluiu-se que o conceito de autogestao e um processo dinâmico e ativo, requerendo conhecimento, atitude, disciplina, determinacao, comprometimento, autorregulacao, empoderamento e autoeficacia, a fim de gerir a doenca para o alcance de um viver saudavel.

The practical of the nursing is developed in multiple scenes that can be sources for the research with human beings. This practical must be based on the *196/96 Resolution of the National Counsel of Health of the Ministry of Health. The objective of this study is to identify the knowledge of the nurse about the *196/96 Resolution and analyze the contribution of the bioethics principles in the use of this resolution. In Ocober, 2006, 56 nurses, which work in a Public Institution of Health in Curitiba city, in the State of Parana, have been interviewed. For the collection of the data, a questionnaire with closed qestions, processed manually was applied to the nurses. It was verified that 67.8% do not work with research; 66,1% do not receive protocols; 64,3% and 76.8% respectively do not have knowledge about the terms indemnity and compensation which are included in the resolution. 32.2% are also unaware of the fact that the Research Committee of Ethics (CEP) must be registered to the National Commission in Research of the Ministry of Health (CONEP/MS). The results have also demonstrated an incipient knowledge on the *196/96 Resolution, on the part of the nurses, demonstrating the necessity of permanent education.
