It is a bibliographical research about domiciliary care held between February and May/2008, in databases BDENF, LILACS, OPAS, WHOLIS, COLECIONA SUS, material from the Ministry of Health Library and complete texts at SciELO, using the terms domiciliary attendence, home care and home nursing, and the criterion for inclusion is to have content related to nursing domiciliary care, in a historical record from January 1998 to January 2008. Sixteen thematic categories were listed, of which were emphasized chronic, caregivers and elderly, totaling 103 articles examined. In these three categories stands out: health education, emphasizing the role of the nurse; profile of the caregiver; the advantages of domiciliary care outrunning the disadvantages. Resumen This is a reflexive essay on the potential use of Jean Watson’s Theory of Transpersonal Caring in the delivery of child-oriented nursing home care, in the light of the 10 elements of the Clinical Caritas Process. This theoretical background permits the development of transpersonal home care to children, the moment when nurses need to develop self-knowledge, have theoretical-philosophical suppor t, and use this knowledge to overcome the paradigm of objectivity and biological care. This is a reflexive essay on the potential use of Jean Watsons Theory of Transpersonal Caring in the delivery of child-oriented nursing home care, in the light of the 10 elements of the Clinical Caritas Process. Home care means an efficient option to prevent, promote and recover population health in an integral way. Professionals in this context are required competent practice, action ultimately grounded by techno-scientific professional knowledge, not strictly bound to it, though. Considering the theme relevance, this qualitative study was elaborated objectifying to identify how nursing competences for home care are developed, and thus build a theoretical model displaying these competences from nurses’ lived experience. Consequently, Grounded Theory methodology , whose basic assumption is to build a theoretical model grounded by studied reality-based data. Seven self-employed home care nurses participated in the study for data collection from public and private institutions respectively. Dat a collection was carried out by means of a semi-structured interview, data analyzed and similiarity-grouped in categories, keeping connection between each other. Six categories resulted from the analysis which helped unveil the phenomenon: Developing competences for home care practice – nurses’ experience. As for considerations , this study contributes to practice once nurses can assess their professional activity and think over the aspects to be completed and refined. In addition, such implications are not restricted to home care as in any caring practice, nurses must be competent and develop competences.

OBJECTIVE to identify possibilities for improvement in the process of teaching and learning homecare in nursing, pharmacy, medicine, nutrition, dentistry and occupational therapy courses. METHOD qualitative research using the Grounded Theory approach. Sixty-three semi-structured interviews were conducted with students, teachers and graduates of the six mentioned courses at a public university in the south of Brazil. Data analysis was performed through open, axial and selective coding. RESULTS the possibilities for improving the process of teaching and learning homecare included: scientific production in the area; use of different teaching techniques; development of extracurricular activities; extension projects; curricular reformulation; and laboratory simulation. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS the strategies cited in this study enable undergraduate courses in health to envisage the possibility of enhance the process of teaching and learning homecare.

OBJECTIVE to present the theoretical model that represents the experience of care in transitional homes of support to families of children in a period of post-transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells. METHOD grounded theory, performed with 18 participants from three different samples. For analysis, we used the QSR Nvivo10 software. RESULTS we elaborated four categories: living in the transitional support home; experiencing care of children in post-transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells; taking care of the family caregiver; and returning to a new life at home, which interrelate according to the theoretical code of the interactive family. CONCLUSION this research contributes to understanding the experience of care in transitional support homes of families with children in post-transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells and subsidizes nursing and health actions provided to this population; it also contributes to the development of a hospital discharge guidance and care directed to this clientele.

To build a theoretical model to configure the network social support experience of people involved in home care. METHOD A quantitative approach research, utilizing the Grounded Theory method. The simultaneous data collection and analysis allowed the interpretation of the phenomenon meaning The network social support of people involved in home care. RESULTS The population passive posture in building their well-being was highlighted. The need of a shared responsibility between the involved parts, population and State is recognized. CONCLUSION It is suggested for nurses to be stimulated to amplify home care to attend the demands of caregivers; and to elaborate new studies with different populations, to validate or complement the proposed theoretical model.

Objective: to look for an understanding through the co-substantiation between the concept of continuity of care and the theoretical reference of the symbolic interactionism, in the sense of adding a possibility to strengthen it as an indispensable concept to the care provided to the health system users and to incite a necessary reflection regarding this care. Method: a theoretical-reflective study, organized in four sections, about the continuity of care analyzed through the symbolic interactionism referential. Results: the symbolic interactionism intends to understand the human action in a group and believes that individuals act based on the meanings that the things have for them. This is a social construction that develops as people act and interact among themselves and with others. The continuity of care, seen from the relational, informational and management dimensions, is in line with the proposed, since it represents a social product that results from the interactions between those involved in care, which is expressed according to their action and reaction, as a constant for a set of practices of different professionals that intend to guarantee the comprehensive and coherent care to the user. Conclusion: this study has made it possible to present the continuity of care within the social interactions context, not as something concrete, but as a social object arising from the actions of each of those involved in care, although it is still possible to perceive the need to sensitize professionals and users about their meaning and intentionality in acting
