The aim of this documental study was to verify the offer, number of hours per class and percentage of disciplines involving Ethics and Bioethics in Medical Education; to analyze the transversal character of Ethics and Bioethics; to identify the thematic lines highlighted in the specific disciplines and to study the aspect of multiprofessionality of the docent body. There is some room for Ethics and Bioethics in the 1st, 5th and 8th semesters of the Medical Program of the Federal University of Ceara (UFC), summing up 196 hours, and transversally they are to a certain extent inserted in a good deal of the other disciplines of the program, an aspect that would deserve being incorporated into the Program of the University of the State of Ceara- UECE. The thematic lines incorporated in the two universities show a widened perception of Deontology itself, not only focused on duties but also contemplating new demands arising from the socio/cultural phenomenon involved. The UECEs professors showed a broader professional diversity than the docent body of the UFC. We suggest that the changes in terms of a reform of the course programs proposed at the Universities be followed and evaluated by the proper beneficiaries, thus contributing to their personal and professional growth.

This study was aimed at evaluating the humanization of hospital care ethnically, as perceived by the hospitalized patients. Data were collected from 13 inpatients from January to July/2005 in a public hospital in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil, according to the patients circuit. This analysis yielded the following categories: ethnic evaluation of the hospital structure and dynamics, hospital and professional image, human and technical competence. The subjects used multiple aspects to soften their opinions, unveiling factors named mediators of the ethnical evaluation. Such aspects were categorized into: conditions of the interview, socio-economic status, users personality and religiousness, ironic speech, somber diagnosis and necessities met, and prior hospitalization experiences. The elements revealed by the patients are significant in order to encourage professionals and mediators to mobilize towards humanizing changes, including the user as a social and critical ethnic evaluator.La investigacion tuvo por objetivo etno-evaluar la humanizacion de la asistencia hospitalaria segun la percepcion de los usuarios hospitalizados. Los datos fueron recolectados de enero a julio del 2005, en un hospital publico de Fortaleza-CE, a traves de la opinion del paciente. Participaron 13 usuarios hospitalizados. El analisis fue realizado por analisis de categorias: etno-evaluacion de la estructura y dinamica hospitalaria, la imagen hospitalaria y la competencia profesional humana y tecnica. Los usuarios utilizaron varias formas para suavizar sus opiniones, siendo mostrados factores denominados de mediadores de la etno-evaluacion catalogados como: condiciones de la entrevistas, condicion socioeconomica, personalidad y religiosidad del usuario, narracion ironica, diagnostico sombrio y necesidades atendidas y experiencia anterior a la hospitalizacion. Aspectos mencionados por los pacientes son significativos para movilizar profesionales y gestores para cambios que promuevan la humanizacion e incluyan al usuario como etno-evaluador critico social.

Ensaio sobre as possibilidades de articulacao entre a Fenomenologia, a humanizacao e a promocao da saude. Entende-se por Fenomenologia o estudo da descricao dos fenomenos humanos e seus significados. As pesquisas de referencial fenomenologico na area da saude tem sido fortalecidas nos ultimos anos, motivadas pela necessidade de apreensao dos significados proprios para cada sujeito inserido em sua totalidade cultural e historica, e como critica ao modelo biomedico, estimulando a emergencia de uma Fenomenologia da Saude e uma nova producao do cuidado em saude. Propoe-se o referencial fenomenologico como importante recurso metodologico para a compreensao do processo de humanizacao na atencao e na gestao em saude, pois ele resgata a importância da consciencia intencional, que revela possiveis sentidos e desvela significados existentes nas relacoes e praticas. Consiste, ainda, na possibilidade de atuar na promocao da saude, pela consonância com a perspectiva de integralidade, autonomia e visao ampliada do processo saude - doenca por meio dos seus pressupostos de totalidade do fenomeno, consciencia intencional e etica.

O saber-fazer docente desperta o interesse dos educadores que tratam deste tema sob diferentes opticas: competencia do professor; integracao do conhecimento subjacente do aluno; do professor reflexivo-critico; da proposta de educacao libertadora e pratica politica; e reconhecimento da complexidade da educacao e reflexao sobre a fragmentacao das disciplinas, dificultando a interdisciplinaridade. Este estudo descritivo qualitativo trata de um processo de ensino a partir de analises teoricas e empiricas, proposto por Edga Morin, ocorrido na disciplina Didatica, no Mestrado em Educacao·em Saude da UNIFOR, em 2004. Participaram da pesquisa vinte mestrandos de varias categorias profissionais. Os resultados demonstram que a dinâmica empregada propiciou a integracao, maior compreensao dos conceitos e obtencao de clima descontraido para aprendizagem. Concluimos que estrategias tais como jogo; dinâmicas grupais e psicodrama pedagogico favorecem a participacao e a expressao de sentimentos, permitem a interacao, assimilacao e compartilhamento das experiencias na elaboracao coletiva do conhecimento.

The evaluation is one of the main activities of working process of any nature and it seeks to transform and integrate the participants by enlarging their perspectives. The objective of this study arose from the students’ experience on research projects’ evaluation, in one subject of the Master’s degree in Health Education, at Fortaleza University and aimed at identifying the students’ perception about this process and the changes occurred from this experience. It was a descriptive study held by means of a questionnaire with open questions answered by 17 students from that Master’s degree, at the end of the subject of Research Seminar II. The results were processed and examined based on the content analysis and gathered in five categories: feelings at evaluating; feelings at being evaluated; attitudes; evaluation method and changes. At evaluating, feelings of development, responsibility and satisfaction prevailed. As they were evaluated, most of the students showed fear, stress, insecurity and difficulty to listen the critics. In the position of “being evaluated”, a critical, impartial and objective positioning surpassed. The projects’ evaluation method was considered satisfactory for 100% of the students. Among the occurred changes, points out the greater critics’ acceptance, the practice of humility and the opportunity of putting oneself in the other’s place. The adopted teaching-learning process stimulated both the critical reflection and the auto critics among the students, allowing the practical learning, the research projects’ improvement and personal and professional ripening, consolidating itself as an important educational strategy in the researchers’ formation.
