The paper concentrates on analyzing associative properties of Artificial Immune Systems, especially on immunological memory, which is a member of a class of sparse and distributed associative memories [18]. This class of memories derives its associative and robust nature by sparsely sampling the input space and distributing the data among many independent agents [16]. Immunological memory is one of the defining characteristics of the adaptive immune system [4]. This memory is able to store and recall patterns when it is required, and can easily categorize new input data [11]. Immunological memory is distributed among the cells in the AIS memory population, and is robust, because when a portion of the memory population is lost, the remaining memory cells persist to produce a response. The major principle behind vaccination procedures in medicine and immunotherapy takes its source from associative properties of immunological memory [13]. Associative recall is a general phenomenon of immunological memory [18].

The article presents the microcontroller system for diagnostic and evaluation of the Stirling engine performance. For this purpose the model for the prototype engine analysis has been developed, to present the engine’s improved benchmarking results. The most relevant objective in this respect was to achieve a uniform heat transfer across each tube of the hot gas heat exchanger. The functioning of this engine has been analyzed with the aim to find and optimize the main working parameters. To obtain this goal the Stirling engine has been equipped with different kinds of electronic sensors. A microcontroller testing circuit has been designed, which uses the acquisition of data from the data module. One of the important tasks of testing a Stirling engine is to present a model, which is able to represent the dynamics involved in all essential processes of the engine.

This paper presents research results of the novel system to control traffic lights which is based on the common European model. One of the most important measures for dealing with this problem is to adopt favorable traffic signal control strategy. The main objective of this research is to develop an effective procedure to control the traffic, which tries to reduce possibility of traffic jams. Additionally, the paper proposes a design and implementation of a microcontroller based system to control traffic lights on an intersection. This traffic light system comprises of PIC32MX440F256H Programmable Integrated Circuit microcontroller, crystal oscillator, power section, and diodes emitting light. For the implementation of the intersection traffic control system, the authors have written within the MPLAB X IDE environment a C language program. The developed system has been tested by constructing a prototype that resembles the real application.
