Cryotherapy is an effective treatment modality for various skin diseases. It is most commonly used to destroy viral warts, actinic keratosis, and seborrheic keratosis. Although cryotherapy is a relatively safe procedure, it can have a wide variety of side effects. A 14-year-old boy presented with a wart over the dorsum of his right hand. The lesion was treated with two freeze–thaw cycles of cryotherapy using an open-spray technique with freeze time of 15 s. A painful, blue–black, hemorrhagic blister developed over the posterior of the right hand on day 3 of treatment (Fig. 1). Because it so closely resembled a blueberry fruit (Fig. 2), we named this phenomenon the blueberry sign. Neither the patient’s history nor laboratory investigations revealed any systemic disorder, and the lesion healed completely.

Abstract Granuloma annulare (GA) is a benign, granulomatous cutaneous disease without clear etiology. Disseminated and drug induced granuloma annulare is a rare presentation. We present a 47-year-old woman with diffuse circular erythematous eruptions following treatment with levetiracetam. Her clinical and histopathological findings were compatible with the diagnosis of granuloma annulare. To the best of our knowledge, there is no previous report of this skin disease as a result of levetiracetam use. We report this case to highlight this antiepileptic drug as a possible etiologic agent in disseminated granuloma annulare.

tis, embolus, or calcification. The proliferating cells tested positive for the endothelial marker CD31. The histologic findings were characteristic of diffuse dermal angiomatosis (DDA). The patient was admitted. An aorto-iliac duplex scan revealed decreased blood flow distal to her left iliac stent. An ankle-brachial index on the left leg was 0.26, signifying severe peripheral occlusion. Two additional procedures to restent the left common iliac artery failed. One month later, she developed urosepsis and died.
