The Algorithms of Transmission Failure Detection in Master-Slave Networks

Authors present considerations on data interchange acceleration method in distributed control systems using dual data transmission line. The method is focused on the construction of a system based on two buses. However bus failure detection is very important in this method, because in such a case transmission on two buses must be stopped. From this point of view, failure detection is a fundamental goal. In article, authors intend to describe in general the problem and to propose some detection algorithms.

In this article the author analyze a problem of data integration in a computer distributed systems. Exchange of information between different levels in integrated pyramid of enterprise process is fundamental with regard to efficient enterprise work. Communication and data exchange between levels are not always the same cause of necessity of different network protocols usage, communication medium, system response time, etc.

Automatic Scenario Selection of Cyclic Exchanges in Transmission via Two Buses

The paper presents the theoretical and empirical tests which examine the algorithms of automatic scenario selection of cyclic exchange in transmission via two buses. The implemented method is the base for using the second (redundant) bus for data transmission. The main aim of this method is to build two-stream data transmission so that each data stream has similar, or even the same transmission time. The flexibility of the proposed solution results from the fact that it is useful not only for two-bus transmission, but also when the transmission is via only one bus. This method allows estimating the time of the network cycle and also indicates the values of the times for acyclic transmissions. The presented method is only the introduction to designing, developing and controlling the two-stream transmission.

Network Integration on the Control Level

In the following paper the authors analyze the problem of the network integration on the lowest level of industrial computer system which is the control level. Exchange of information between different levels in integrated pyramid of enterprise process is fundamental with regard to an efficient enterprise operation. Communication and data exchange between levels for different systems are not always the same because of a variability of the used network protocols, communication mediums, system response times, etc. That makes the problem of network integration an important aspect for research.

Algorithms for Transmission Failure Detection in a Communication System with Two Buses

Designing systems with parallel transmission for industrial purposes, requires first defining the types of a failure, and next detecting it. Another step is to execute an appropriate procedure that can ensure the continuity of transmission. The issue of a failure detection can be a problem in itself, but is can also be a component of data transmission via dual bus. To make the transmission system work correctly, apart from creating the scenario of exchanges, it is necessary to solve the problem of a failure occurrence so that to maintain the transmission continuity. The paper presents the methods of failure detection and algorithms used when such failure occurs.

Research of Failure Detection Algorithms of Transmission Line and Equipment in a Communication System with a Dual Bus

The paper presents the results of empirical tests, which examine the algorithm of failure detection in transmission line or network node in dual bus system. The implemented algorithm is the base that use the second bus for parallel data transmission. It also presents the research results, which refer to measuring the duration of basic transaction in the network system, duration of the bus failure detection A(B) and slave station failure.

The General Concept of a Distributed Computer System Designed for Monitoring Rock Movements

In this article the authors consider a construction of a computer distributed system designed for monitoring geological phenomena such as big rock falls. In order to create universal IT solutions for this kind of threats, authors designed a general concept of a system without using an off-the-shelf expensive equipment. This is the first step to building a prototype of such a monitoring system as well as conducting additional research related to measurement of dislocation and low power transmission.

A Failure Influence on Parameters of Real-Time System with Two Buses

The paper refers to the time parameters of transmission in industrial systems that use two buses. Applying the systems with two buses makes sense only if it is possible to control the transmission all the time, and make modifications and reconstruction of transmission scenario in case of a failure. The paper presents the results of empiric research into testing software algorithm for failure detection of transmission line and network node in industrial communication system. After implemented this algorithm in PLC the results referring to measurements of duration of basic transaction in a system and duration of failure detection on communication buses were presented. The authors tried to clarify whether a failure detection in two buses transmission can have an influence on the delays of transmission. The paper consists of description of a test bench for time parameters measurements, the test results and conclusion.

Optimization for Database Migration Using Network Socket Option

In this article the author analyzes a problem of the database migration using a socket option. Database migration always means a planned downtime and is a very special phase in the life of an SAP system. It is very important to reduce the downtime to the absolute minimum. The most efficient way to perform the database migration is to use the socket option, which works similarly to a network pipe and is realized with utilization of TCP/IP sockets.
