Transmisión Intergeneracional del Apego y Función Reflexiva Materna: Una Revisión

The research about intergenerational transmission of attachment has reported strong associations between the adult and child patterns of attachment. Evidence has shown parent’s sensibility as an important precursor of infant’s security. Nevertheless the transmission gap still isn’t clear. Some authors have suggested the reflective function of the mother as a variable that could explain the gap. This article offers a discussion about this issue, showing some evidence that supports reflective function, and it’s behavioral aspects in the mother-child early relationship, as an essential dimension in the explanation of the transmission. Finally we discuss the relevance of considering this evidence in the design of preventive interventions.

Vivienda social y subjetivación urbana en Santiago de Chile: Espacio privado, repliegue presentista y añoranza

Housing policy in Chile has been one of the main routes to “overcome poverty” ever since the return to democracy and have transformed the face of the city both in material and social terms. This research investigated processes of subjectivism of dwellers which underwent the transition from camp to social housing in different neighborhoods of Santiago, a process marked by the emergence of new forms of marginality and fragmentation. Based on an exploratory/comprehensive design and following a qualitative methodology, we analyzed the biographical narratives of twenty social housing dwellers from poor communes of Santiago, who were beneficiaries of the housing policy between the years 2000 and 2009. Results reveal a privatization process in the struggle for housing, followed by an oscillation between the joy of having intimacy and the nostalgia of a less fearful relationship with a mutating identity. We note that this process settles in in the midst of an ethical and political regime that exaggerates the visibility of individual capabilities and eclipses the social and political space that produce their condition, leading dwellers to develop a kind of citizenship that promotes private consumption, thus preserving social fragmentation processes.

La investigación cualitativa: un aporte para mejorar los servicios de salud

Health care research requires different methodological approaches such as qualitative and quantitative analyzes to understand the phenomena under study. Qualitative research is usually the least considered. Central elements of the qualitative method are that the object of study is constituted by perceptions, emotions and beliefs, non-random sampling by purpose, circular process of knowledge construction, and methodological rigor throughout the research process, from quality design to the consistency of results. The objective of this work is to contribute to the methodological knowledge about qualitative research in health services, based on the implementation of the study, “The transition process from pediatric to adult services: perspectives from adolescents with chronic diseases, caregivers and health professionals”. The information gathered through the qualitative methodology facilitated the understanding of critical points, barriers and facilitators of the transition process of adolescents with chronic diseases, considering the perspective of users and the health team.
