The objective of the present study was to analyze the communication process tools triggered in group activities in the Family Health strategy. Data collection was performed using semi-structured interviews recorded with 51 nurses and through non-participating, non-systematic public observation in natural situations of 19 group activities analyzed according to content qualitative approach. Based on the reports of the professionals, two categories emerged: dialogue-action and dialogue-interaction, which evinced that the communication process is an instrumental means of group activities in the Family Health strategy. The former by the predominant use of verbal language as a means for developing operational procedures specific to each professional in relation to monitoring the health of the client, and the latter as an instrument in which, according to the nurses, there is a simultaneous use of verbal and nonverbal communication. The objective of the present study was to analyze the communication process tools triggered in group activities in the Family Health strategy. ABSTRACT Objective: to identify the effect of the mental, physical, temporal, performance, total effort and frustration demands in the overall workload, and in the same way analyze the global burden of port labor and associated factors that contribute most to their decrease or increase. Method: a cross-sectional, quantitative study, developed with 232 dock workers. For data collection, a structured questionnaire with descriptive, occupational, smoking and illicit drug use variables was applied, as well as variables on the load on the tasks undertaken at work, based on the questionnaire NASA Task Load Index. For data analysis, we used the analysis of the Poisson regression model. Results: the demands physical demand and total effort showed greater effect on the overall workload, indicating high overall load on port work (134 employees - 58.8%). The following remained associated statistically with high levels of workload: age (p = 0.044), to be employee of the wharfage (p = 0.006), work only at night (p = 0.025), smoking (p = 0.037) and use of illegal drugs (p = 0.029). Conclusion: the workload in this type of activity was high, and the professional category and work shift the factors that contributed to the increase, while the age proved to be a factor associated with a decrease.1 Apoio financeiro da Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul (FAPERGS), Brasil, processo no 1174-2551/13-5. 2 PhD, Professor Associado, Escola de Enfermagem, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande, Rio Grande, RS, Brasil. 3 PhD, Professor Adjunto, Faculdade de Enfermagem, Universidade Federal de Pelotas, Pelotas, RS, Brasil. 4 PhD, Enfermeira, Escola de Enfermagem, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande, Rio Grande, RS, Brasil. 5 PhD, Professor Adjunto, Universidade Federal do Pampa, Uruguaiana, RS, Brasil.

Objective:nto analyze the relationship of occupational health nurses with the other members of the Specialized Service in Safety Engineering and Occupational Medicine (SESMT) and characterize joint actions of these professionals in occupational health.nnnMethod:nqualitative, exploratory, and descriptive study with 34 professionals of seven companies from the South Macroregion of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Interviews and observations were conducted for content analysis of Bardin.nnnResults:nthe SESMTs are multidisciplinary and intersectoral workers. Nurses have working relations of an interpersonal, technical/legal, and management of logistics/organizational nature, influenced by the technical division of work and by the division in the work environment of the staff, which distances areas, generates conflicts, and fragments the actions of the service.nnnConclusion:nSESMT faces challenges to develop a work befitting their legal objectives, once staff and companies need to understand the importance of interdisciplinarity for the success of actions on the workers health and safety. Objective: to analyze the relationship of occupational health nurses with the other members of the Specialized Service in Safety Engineering and Occupational Medicine (SESMT) and characterize joint actions of these professionals in occupational health.
