Novilhos Nelore suplementados em pastagens: consumo, desempenho e digestibilidade

Objetivou-se com este estudo verificar os efeitos de diferentes niveis de suplementacao em pastagens sobre o consumo de forragem, o desempenho animal e a digestibilidade dos nutrientes em novilhos Nelore na fase de terminacao em pastagens no Sudoeste da Bahia. A parte de campo foi implantada numa area de 52,0 ha, dividida em oito piquetes de aproximadamente 6,5 ha cada, subdivididas em setores com aguada central. Testaram-se quatro niveis de suple-mentacao em funcao do peso vivo: T00, T03, T06 e T09. Na fase de suplementacao, houve efeito decrescente sobre o consumo da pastagem e da fibra em detergente neutro. Houve efeito linear crescente em funcao dos niveis de suplementacao para os consumos de proteina bruta, extrato etereo, carboidrato nao-fibroso, nutrientes digestiveis totais, energia digestivel e energia bruta. No periodo chuvoso, nenhuma variavel foi alterada. O desempenho animal apresentou efeito linear crescente na fase de suplementacao e manteve-se inalterado no periodo chuvoso. A conversao alimentar e a eficiencia alimentar foram alteradas positivamente pela inclusao dos niveis de suplementacao. Houve efeito linear crescente sobre os coeficientes de digestibilidade da materia seca, proteina bruta e carboidratos nao-fibrosos. A digestibilidade da fibra em detergente neutro apresentou efeito quadratico enquanto a do extrato etereo nao foi alterada. No periodo chuvoso, nenhuma das variaveis foi alterada.

Interação ordenhador-vaca e as respostas compor- tamentais, produtivas e econômica dos animais

The objective was to evaluate the influence of the handling of three milkers on the behavior of dairy cows, milking management and animal production. Direct observations were made, continuous and with visual sampling of the milkers behavior and of the cows. The cows participated of the three treatments (milkers), constituting the cross-over experimental design. In the comparative analysis of the human and animal behavior the nonparametric chi-square (c2) test was used. For data on milk production, flight distance and milking time it was applied the variance analysis (ANOVA). In the economic evaluation it was used a descriptive analysis of the production results. It was concluded that the type of handling of the milker influenced milk production, milking time, flight distance and the reaction of the animals.

Suplementação proteica a pasto sob o consumo, digestibilidade e desempenho na terminação de novilhos Nelore na época das águas

This study aimed to evaluate the use of mineral and mineral supplement protein in finishing Nellore grazing Brachiaria brizantha during the rainy season and its implications for forage intake, animal performance and nutrient digestibility. The fieldwork was located in an area of 26 ha, divided into four paddocks of approximately 6.5 hectares (ha), formed Brachiaria brizantha Marandu. We used 18 Nellore with 28 months live weight of 400.5 ± 7.5kg and castrated in two treatments: mineral supplementation until the termination and mineral supplementation of low protein intake to termination. There was no effect on the consumption of pasture, neutral detergent fiber, crude protein, fat, non-fiber carbohydrates, ash and total digestible nutrients. The animal performance and feed conversion were not affected by supplementation. There was no effect on the coefficient of digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, crude protein, ether extract and neutral detergent fiber. There was an effect of supplementation on the digestibility of non-fiber carbohydrates. In the rainy season the utilization of mineral salt allows the of animals in pastures. It is unnecessary supplementation with protein salt at the time of the waters.
