Research and development of ultrasonic device prototype for intensification of drying process

Vladimir N. Khmelev; Roman V. Barsukov; Denis S. Abramenko; Dmitry V. Genne

In the article theory of ultrasonic drying is stated. The possibility of ultrasonic field creation with intensity about 150 dB by means of disk radiators in closed volume of drying chambers is considered. The prototype of ultrasonic dryer for carrying out experiments on various drying materials is described; results of preliminary experiments on drying of gelatin, peas, fabric and carrots are presented.

Revelation of optimum modes of ultrasonic influence for atomization of viscous liquids by mathematical modelling

Vladimir N. Khmelev; Roman N. Golykh; Andrey V. Shalunov; Anna V. Shalunova; Dmitry V. Genne

In the article the process of cavitation low-frequency (up to 250 kHz) ultrasonic atomization of viscous liquids in a layer is investigated. It takes place with entering of acoustic energy to working zone through liquid. To reveal optimum modes of ultrasonic influence depending on physical properties of atomized liquid (viscosity, surface tension, etc.) the model describing stepwise transformation of mechanical vibration energy of ulrtasonic frequency into energy of capillary waves providing the formation of drops was proposed and developed. For the first time we offer theoretical explanation of essential dependence of drop diameter on vibration amplitude of spraying surface based on changes of mean thickness of ridges of capillary waves according to their amplitude due to occurence of nonlinear effects. Obtained results can be a base for the design of specialized ultrasonic atomizers of liquids with high viscosity for the formation of aerosols with specified productivity and dispersed features.

Method of acoustic load control

Vladimir N. Khmelev; Roman V. Barsukov; Dmitry V. Genne; Denis S. Abramenko; Eugene V. Ilchenko

The problems of indirect determination of parameters, which are directly connected with the value and the character of acoustic resistance of the media exposed to ultrasound, are discussed. This method for control of acoustic media parameters is based on control of electric parameters of ultrasonic vibrating systems, which are in contact with the processed technological media.

Development of equipment for fine-dispersed atomization of viscous liquids

Vladimir N. Khmelev; Dmitry V. Genne; Andrey V. Shalunov; Anna V. Shalunova; Sergey S. Khmelev; Viktor G. Drokov; Yuriy D. Skudaev

The article considers new technology of atomization of viscous liquids from unsteady surface with next additional atomization in spray-type needle moving out aerosol flow was considered. As a result of the researches, high efficiency of realization of secondary atomization was proved and dependences of atomization efficiency on frequency, vibration amplitude and form of the end of spray-type needle were developed. The obtained results of atomization of viscous liquids are evidence of reducing of particles of primarily sprayed aerosol by 3–4 times.
