Our research deals with a comprehensive study of the management success factors of logistics service providers using a new approach, and examines the life of logistics service companies. The data were collected from 51 logistics service providers in Hungary. We searched for the proper enterprise scale – acquisitions – strategies (including the method of looking for the economies of scale in the LSP segment to be examined, and the role of strategy choice). Our research has found that among logistics companies those firms which followed the growth pattern has significantly higher sales revenue than the companies growing organically. Additionally, logistics companies – considering their pre-tax profits work more efficiently when they have a growth strategy (regardless of its time lag). However, this claim is true only for those companies that did not have any (revenue) growth over the previous Received: May, 2017 1st Revision: August, 2017 Accepted: November, 2017 DOI: 10.14254/20718330.2017/10-4/18 Journal of International Studies S ci en ti fi c P a pe rs

The primary objective of this study is to analyse the impact of human capital accumulation on productivity growth in a sectoral approach. In our estimations, we followed a specific taxonomy to identify the features of output and employment growth tendencies in four different labour-skilled branches in OECD countries. Besides determining the differences of output and labour structure by standard descriptive statistics, we used a dynamic panel regression method to investigate the connection between physical and human capital, employment, and productivity growth in each sector. All in all, we found an increasing role of human capital (HC) from the period between 1985 and 2007. Analysing the time series panel data of these countries, our results also yield valid relationships between the level of education and productivity growth.

This paper, relies on a theoretical and conceptual framework of labour productivity and Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs). In order to support the theoretical insights a regression method was used to determine whether there exists a direct impact of IPRs on output per capita in various OECD countries. In our estimations we surveyed a specific technology-intensive approach in four different clusters of manufacturing industries. All in all, our results yield a valid positive relationship between patents, trademarks and productivity growth. In this sense, the better valorisation of patents must be considered in a global context to facilitate SMEs’ access to the benefits of markets.
