Received Jun 2, 2015 Revised Oct 25, 2015 Accepted Nov 16, 2015 The growth of world economic and increasing of trading in most of countries has impact to the number of containers export and import between countries. Some of container terminal is very busy to handle high volume of container movement. Conventional operational procedures have difficulties to handle containers movement then make slow and some issues in terminal operation for container clearance. This paper discus on proposing new algorithm to the current container terminal management system used RFID technology for fast processing and clearance. Container Terminal Management System (CTMS) is a system for port management and interface to the RFID system that used to identify container e-seal, truck and driver identity. Lack of communication and interfacing protocol made slow response during request or reply of message to the gate operator. Proposed algorithm with new procedure of request to CTMS made faster response and avoid inaccuracy of detecting container e-seal. Results of implementation new algorithm have improved to the productivity and efficiency of container terminal. Testing and implementation of this proposed system conducted in a private container terminal in Malaysia. Keyword:

The growth of economic in some country especially in developing country has impact to movement of goods to deliver or export/import. Most of the movement is using container either land or sea transport. This research presents an intelligent system of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in a container terminal for speed up handling process then more container to serve. A new business process is proposed for a container management system operational flow. The intelligent system used a technology which is Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) incorporated to ICT for the purpose of identifying driver, vehicle, e-seal, and container number. The RFID middleware as the key point manages all the information between Gate Checker (GC) and Container Terminal Management System (CTMS), as well as RFID reader. Middleware receives information requested by GC from reader and is then verified by CTMS database. A new technique for RFID tag filtering and a novel algorithm are introduced for effective processing and communication between CTMS and GC. The proposed system was tested at receiving station of a private container terminal to check the performance. The clearance time reduce significantly compare to previous process, before is 248.1 second per container in average to become 57 second per container.

Increasing internet network traffic in a Local Area Network (LAN) will impact to internet access performance. Abnormal internet traffic monitoring system is very important to detect anomaly usage of internet bandwidth. In Islamic University of Riau (UIR) one of the issue related internet usage and normal method is by tapping a monitoring computer to the main terminal of LAN or source of internet provider. This research proposes a new method of monitoring system that gives detail information by using traffic behavior method and history of traffic connected, whereas detail information of internet bandwidth used is monitored for analysis. In this research case location is in Islamic University if Riau, Indonesia campus LAN area. Results shows graph of monitoring in day time because of student activities only in that time, various website and link access by students and staff in the campus be able to captured including duration with specific time. This method gives continues and accurate data to capture anomaly data use including Internet Protocol (IP) address of computer or device connected. The system help operator to give report related to internet usage and user who connected as well as data used in automatic system.

Silica sand is produced by weathered igneous rock where transported and deposited in the area such as banks of a river, lake, or beach. The study area of the silica sand distribution is on Muda Island and Ketam Island, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province, Indonesia. Silica sand source deposits in this area are influenced by the northern part of the estuary of Kampar River which is dealing with the straits of Melaka that rich with sand sediments reserve. Melaka Strait in the northwest part of this estuary transports the sand materials from the Indian Ocean, while in the northeast part the sand sediment materials were obtained from the South China Sea and Riau Islands. Silica sand deposition process occurs due to the estuary system which is a bore tidal system. Landsat 8 that has been taken from June 2016 shows the significance of the sandbars development that almost thrives on the whole estuary of the Kampar River and the spread almost evenly from Muda Island and Ketam Island. From the result of laboratory testing using X-ray fluorescence (X-RF) for the sample of Muda Island contains the silica compound with the percentage is 92% and for the sample from Ketam Island, the percentage compound of silica sand in the sand sample is 90.5%. The result from X-ray diffraction (X-RD) analysis in the sample of Muda Island shows the high peak is quartz and miciocline compounds with the peak count of 3000 cps and for the silica sand sample from Ketam Island, the high peak are muscovite and quartz which has more than 32,000 cps.

High mobility of Indonesian residence is increasing by the time, especially for the people who live in urban areas. Most of housing and room are leave without any guidance and very risk to the theft and violation. In this research propose, a home monitoring system based on object sensor and cloud computing to keep the information before forward to owner. House monitoring system used cloud computing technology using Webcam motion detection used for the detection system and Raspberry Pi 3 as processor to store data as buffer before send to cloud, as well as webcam and motion movement. Every section for image storage media when image captured then store in google drive that can be call any time and also cloud computing and notification that is using email or push messaging. Results show that moving object can be detect while object under position up to 5 m, an alert send to owner for notification that something happen in the house. With this system will help residence more safe and reduce risk to leave house.

Dry battery on a motorcycle has a rapid rate of voltage drop, life time is not too long, and a long charging time. These are problems for users of dry battery for motorcycle. When the rate in the voltage decreases, the energy storage in the battery is reduced, then at the age of one to two years of battery will be dead and cannot be used, it makes the user should replace the battery. New technology development of a motorcycle battery is lithium ion battery. Lithium ion battery has a specification that has been tested and possible to replace dry battery. Characteristics of lithium ion battery can answer the question on the dry battery service life, the rate of decrease in voltage and charging time. This paper discusses about the technical feasibility for commercialization of lithium ion battery for motorcycle battery. Our proposed methodology of technical feasibility by using a goldsmith commercialization model of the technical feasibility and reconfirm the technical standard using the national standard of...

High operating costs, lux incompatible, and inefficient become a great problem in the street lighting of campus area that generated by fossil energy. In a case study at Sebelas Maret University, it is possible to shift the street lighting that generated from fossel to Solar Cell. This article aims to evaluate and design Street Lighting with Solar Cell. An evaluation framework was developed to evaluate the performance of current condition related to lux, distance, pole, and the amount of lamp power. We design the alternatives of Street Lighting by using DIALux application to fullfill the technical standard of Street Lighting. The specification of street lighting, the type of installation, and the material used were studied for designing new Street Lighting. A simulation-based analysis was used to determine the specifications of new design of street lighting. The results shows that the alternative of design street lighting that generated by Solar Cell can be used to substitute the existing one with better performance and reliability aspects.
