Papel das relações interorganizacionais e da capacidade de inovação na propensão para exportar

Organizational resources, such as internal factors that drive the performance of organizations, indicate also a conceptual basis for explaining the propensity to export. This study presents some hypotheses in which some resources such as innovation capability, the size of the company, the companys affiliation to a local association, market orientation and relationships with suppliers are positively associated with the propensity to export. Using a logistic regression and Chi square tests on a sample of 223 furniture companies located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), 96 of them exporters, was identified two major factors relevant to the propensity to export. First, the relationship between size of companies and propensity to export is highly significant. Second, local interorganizational relationships present a significant effect on the propensity to export. Thus, the results indicate that, considering the resources studied, the local interorganizational relationships are probably the most important, because it may enable companies to access to various other types of resources and capabilities.

Relacionamentos interorganizacionais entre empresas exportadoras e assessorias em comércio exterior: um estudo em díades no setor moveleiro

This study aimed to analyze the interorganizational relationships (IORs) between focal firms (export furniture industry) and members of support (advising on foreign trade) in the context of supply chains in the furniture industry. The study are conducted by a multiple cases in three dyads. The results indicated that with the development of IRs, the confidence gained allowed qualifying service delivery. It was identified also that the most frequent personal contact, and employees of the investigated dyads get to know personally allowed a better IOR. On the other hand, the distancing of relations caused the spacing between sectors involved and dissatisfaction on the lack of advisory services to introduce innovations.

Antecedents of Perceived Value and Repurchase Intention of Organic Food

ABSTRACT The rise of the natural and organic products market follows a global trend of increasing demand largely due to the growth of environmental awareness and the concern of having a healthier diet. Thus, the objective of this study is to propose and test a theoretical model based on antecedent constructs of perceived value and repurchase intention on the consumption of organic products. The results, based on 256 consumers of organic products, confirm the positive relationship between environmental awareness and perceived quality, healthy consumption, and perceived price fairness. Moreover, they underpin the influence of healthy consumption, perceived price fairness and perceived quality on perceived value, and lastly, the influence of perceived value on repurchase intention. Therefore, this study can help practitioners and consumers comprehend in a more systematic way the buying behaviour of this food category.

Measuring the capital systems categories: the perspective of an integrated value system of social life as perceived by young citizens

The generic capital system (GCS) is a value-based third generation knowledge management formal system structured by categories in a complete and consistent taxonomy. It was presented by Carrillo (2002) as a structure which allows to identify the relationships between the elements that create value when interacting as a system. In this study, we aim to advance towards the social dimension of the GCS according to youths perspective. The objective is to construct and validate a scale to measure the perception of the GCS constructs. The methodology includes a deep literature review to identify the theoretical constructs underlying the capital GCS for subsequent construction of a scale to measure the perception of these constructs. The data was collected from 300 Brazilian university students. The results indicate that the identification of an integrated value perspective of the social life is possible. The scale succeeded in measuring the constructs underlying the CS.

Storytelling and Innovative Behavior: An Empirical Study in a Brazilian Group.

Purpose The paper aims to identify the relationship between the use of storytelling and innovative work behavior (IWB) in organizations. Design/methodology/approach The research took place in a human resource development (HRD) training session for leaders of Alpha Group. In this session, storytelling was adopted to discuss innovation and IWB. Following the training, the leaders completed a questionnaire about the effectiveness of the stories for the construction of knowledge and IWB. Data were collected from 97 leading sectors. Subsequently, data analysis was performed to identify correlations between the aspects. Findings The paper provides empirical insights about the use of storytelling, the effectiveness of the stories, as well as their relationship with the innovative behavior of sectors leaders in a Brazilian organization. It has identified the relation between effectiveness of stories and level of innovative behavior. Research limitations/implications Owing to the chosen research approach, the research results cannot be generalized. Because it is a study of a single organization, the results concern to the reality experienced in the organization studied. Therefore, researchers are encouraged to test this relationship in other organizations to contribute to the discussion and practice of innovation in HRD. Practical implications Stories can contribute to innovative behavior, and innovative behavior contributes to helping understand the stories. HRD practitioners can provide the use of storytelling, combined with other forms of interventions, to enhance IWB to promote collaborative learning culture and work engagement. Originality/value Previous papers have identified the role of HRD in the development of IWB in organizations. Theoretically, previous papers have also highlighted that storytelling can be a tool for the development of innovative behavior. The paper empirically has tested these contributions, identifying emerging aspects of this relationship.

AS ESTRATÉGIAS DE PRECIFICAÇÃO E O DESEMPENHO DAS EMPRESAS

O preco e um dos principais aspectos determinantes para a escolha dos produtos pelos compradores. Fatores como maior diferenciacao dos produtos, desenvolvimentos tecnologicos e globalizacao da economia fizerem com que o preco ganhasse importância, pois e um dos elementos chave para alcancar o volume de vendas desejado e por impactar nos lucros e na rentabilidade das empresas. Alem disso, as estrategias de precificacao sao fundamentais para a consolidacao de um posicionamento de mercado adequado. Sendo assim, este trabalho analisou as estrategias e os processos de precificacao utilizados em 153 empresas afiliadas ao Sindicato das Industrias Metalurgicas e de Material Eletrico de Caxias do Sul (SIMECS), verificando a relacao das decisoes de preco com o desempenho destas empresas. Como metodo de pesquisa, foi realizada uma pesquisa quantitativo-descritiva do tipo survey com os responsaveis pelo processo de precificacao destas empresas. Para a analise dos resultados, foi empregada a Analise Fatorial a Analise de Variância (ANOVA) e Analise de Cluster Os principais resultados sugerem que as empresas tendem a considerar como principal metodo de definicao de precos o preco baseado em custos. No entanto, existem diferencas entre as estrategias de precos utilizadas e diferencas nos desempenhos apresentados entre os ramos de atividade, bem como no porte das empresas pesquisadas, definido pela separacao em tres grupos de empresas ou clusters sendo que o Cluster concentra as empresas de menor porte com menor desempenho e os demais Clusters com um desempenho superior. Alem disso, os dados sugerem que empresas que pertencem ao Cluster 2 e ao Cluster que conseguem captar melhor o valor percebido dos clientes, aliado a uma estrategia de precos altos, apresentam um melhor desempenho diante dos seus principais concorrentes.

AS DIMENSÕES DOS MODELOS MENTAIS DOS EMPREENDEDORES E SEUS IMPACTOS SOBRE O DESEMPENHO ORGANIZACIONAL

Este trabalho objetiva identificar as dimensoes e variaveis basicas dos modelos mentais dos empreendedores, bem como os seus impactos sobre o desempenho de suas empresas. Para isso, foi realizada uma pesquisa qualitativa com seis empreendedores, e uma pesquisa quantitativa com 113 empresas do setor metalomecânico na Serra Gaucha. Dentre as contribuicoes deste trabalho, destaca-se, primeiramente a proposicao de um modelo teorico no qual se identificam sete dimensoes dos modelos mentais dos empreendedores relacionadas ao desempenho organizacional. Uma segunda contribuicao e a proposicao de uma escala para a mensuracao dos modelos mentais dos dirigentes das empresas. Os resultados da pesquisa confirmam que a escala proposta se ajustou bem as dimensoes identificadas na revisao da literatura e que dentre as sete dimensoes apresentadas, as que estao relacionadas ao conhecimento, ao relacionamento, a missao e a estrategia, a criatividade e a vocacao apresentaram um impacto significativo sobre o desempenho das organizacoes analisadas. Verificou-se que 27,5% do poder explicativo do desempenho organizacional pode estar associado as dimensoes formadoras dos modelos mentais dos empreendedores.
