Job crafting behavior refers to the changes made by workers in their job context for adjusting their activities to their preferences. We sought to adapt and collect validity evidences of the Job Crafting Behaviors Scale for the Brazilian context, in a sample of 491 workers, with a mean age of 26.7 years. Factor analysis revealed that the final instrument consisted of three dimensions (increasing structural job resources, increasing social job resources, increasing challenging job demands), which showed good internal consistency indexes. These dimensions showed low or moderate correlations with work engagement, positive psychological capital, positive job affect, and in-role performance. The scale showed evidence of validity, the use of which is recommended for future research on the changes that people make in their jobs.

Intelligence is an important variable in the pursuit to comprehend academic achievement. The present study aimed to review the literature with regard to the relation between intelligence and academic achievement, highlighting variables that may infl uence this relation. The reviewed articles were classifi ed into nine categories according to the main variables that have been investigated in relation to intelligence and academic achievement. These categories are related to personality traits, gender, cognition, ethnicity, positive and dysfunctional aspects, socioeconomic status, personal and school aspects. The reviewed articles indicate evidence that personality characteristics such as responsibility and self-discipline are positively associated with academic achievement. Other factors like creativity, motivation, self-perceived performance also seem to explain academic achievement. Furthermore, the main shortcomings of the scientifi c literature and directions for future research are presented.

The relevance of cognitive assessment in Autism Spectrum Disorders is due to the association between cognitive deficits and severity of symptoms, adaptive functioning, prognosis and planning of more effective interventions. Thus, the aim of this study was to verify the non-verbal test of intelligence SON-R 2 ½ - 7 [a] adequacy in ASD group of children. The participants were 18 boys aged 4 and 7 years old, diagnosed based on the DSM-IV-TR and scored on screening instruments. The nonverbal intelligence test SON-R 2 ½ - 7 [a], the Autism Behavior Checklist (ABC), the Autism Screening Questionnaire (ASQ) and the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales (VABS) were used. The results showed that 55.6% of the group had IQs below average, and there was significant difference between the performance of TEA group and normative sample in the four subtests that compose the instrument. Intra-group analysis showed statistically significant differences between subtests, although these showed significant positive correlations with each other. Negative and significant correlations were observed between IQ Total in SON-R 2 ½ - 7 [a] the ABC and ASQ, as well as positive and significant correlations were observed between Total IQ and VABS. The results corroborate previous findings that indicate moderate relationships between intelligence, severityof symptoms and functionality, as well as the presence of specific profile of nonverbal performance in ASD group.

To gain more insight in family processes, psychometrically tests are required. The present study aimed to adapt a reduced version of the Young Parenting Inventory (YPI) to the Portuguese language and to obtain evidence of its validity. The instrument was administered to a sample of 920 persons (59% female) with an average age of 21.3 years. Exploratory factor analysis indicated the existence of five factors explaining approximately 45% of the variance. Confirmatory factor analysis showed fit indices above.80. In comparison with other models, the five factor model showed a better fit to the data. Between the YPI and Familiograma (another test of family processes) moderate correlations were observed. The results of this study suggest satisfactory evidence of the validity for the YPI in Brazil.

This study aimed to show evidence of validity for the Brazilian short version (12 items) of the Psychological Capital Questionnaire (PCQ-12). Three independent samples participated in the study, totaling 1771 subjects (64.3% women, 32.9% men and 2.9% undeclared), aged 18-79 years (M = 38.59, SD = 12.98). Confirmatory factor analyses showed acceptable adjustment indices for the four-factor structure (self-efficacy, hope, resilience and optimism) and for a second-order structure with a general factor of psychological capital explaining the four primary factors. Multi-group confirmatory factor analyses found configural, metric and scalar invariance of the measure for the different samples as well as for men and women. Finally, convergent validity analyses found a positive and moderate correlation of PCQ-12 with satisfaction with life and subjective happiness, as well as a negative and moderate correlation with perceived stress and depression.

EnglishAbstract: According to the Work-Home Resources Model, contextual family resources increase personal resources, which, in turn, improve work outcomes. The present study investigated the direct effects of two contextual family resources (work- family enrichment and perceived social support from family) and one personal resource (core self-evaluations) on a work outcome (flourishing at work). The mediational role of core self-evaluations in these relationships was also investigated. The sample was composed of 519 Brazilian psychologists of both sexes. The Structural Equation Modeling showed that the contextual family resources and the personal resource predicted flourishing at work and that core self-evaluations mediated the relationships between contextual resources and flourishing at work. It was concluded that the acquisition of resources within the family and the positive evaluation of one’s own life can promote flourishing at work. portuguesResumo: De acordo com o Modelo de Recursos Trabalho-Casa, os recursos contextuais da familia aumentam os recursos pessoais que, por sua vez, aumentam os resultados no trabalho.
