Mit dem BMW X6 Active Hybrid fuhrte der Munchner Autobauer das erste Fahrzeug aus deutscher Produktion mit Vollhybrid-Technik in den heimischen Markt ein. Wesentliche Antriebskomponenten wurden im Rahmen der „Global Hybrid Cooperation“ mit Daimler, Chrysler und GM entwickelt. Zu den Zielen von BMW zahlte, trotz gleicher Hybrid-Hardwarekomponenten, eine eigene markentypische Betriebsstrategie darzustellen. Die Verbrauchsvorteile von bis zu 20% lassen sich auf die Steuerungs- und Regelungstechnik und dafur notwendige neue Funktionsarchitekturen zuruckfuhren, die BMW-Ingenieure in diesem Artikel darstellen.

Control strategies for hybrid powertrains

With the BMW X6 Active Hybrid, the Munich-based car maker launched the first German-built car with full hybrid technology onto the domestic market. The main drive train components were developed together with Daimler, Chrysler and GM within the framework of the “Global Hybrid Cooperation”. Among BMWs objectives was to present its own brand-specific operating strategy in spite of sharing the same hybrid hardware components. The fuel consumption benefits of up to 20 % are the result of the control technology and the new functional architecture required for it, as explained by BMW engineers in this article.
