Supervisory Control: Towards a Proactive Attitude

Abstract This paper will first come back on a more accurate definition of the flexibility concept and then develop the concept of proactivity applied to supervisory control system. It will describe the principle of proactive supervision which allows an intelligent exploitation of flexibility. This control structure is carried out by adding an upper level to the reactive level which provides the functionality usually affected to a supervisory control system. An example of application will then be described.

Perturbations Management: A Case Study

Abstract Today, most factories are evolving in a very stormy environment such that it can be considered that perturbation is not an exception but a part of normal running. A method is proposed to manage perturbations, based on a coherent definition of the factory objectives and their associated performance indicators. According to this model, a formal definition of a perturbation is proposed in order to develop retroaction loops. Finally, the first results of the implementation of this method in a french factory are then exposed.
