Adopted as a theoretical reference the vision of the individual and systemic concepts of confrontation. The path traveled was the methodology of qualitative research, using the basic principles of Grounded Theory. The scenario of the study was an association of kidney and transplanted from Rio de Janeiro State. The participants of the research subjects were dependent on dialysis involved in this association. To rescue the data were taken by participant observation and semi-structured in depth. The information was analyzed, considering the basic procedures relevant to Grounded Theory: open coding, coding axial and coding selective. Among many things, the study points to the relationship of interdependence of knowledge and sensitivity to ensure that the care provided is based on the systemic view of the individual.

The study subjects were considered from the perspective of symbolic interactionism, which emphasizes the significance of the elements of the world as determinants for the interaction. Following the methodological procedures of Grounded Theory were established paradigms of the five elements of analysis: Causes, Context, Factors Actors, Strategies for Action/Interaction and Consequences. The purpose of this discussion is finding ways by which the customer carrier faces chronic kidney disease on peritoneal dialysis, on the verge of realizing this method. Facing this new situation, the customer goes to a wake, abandoning the idea of death and making a clear distinction between chronic kidney disease and dialysis. If before, the two perceptions seemed to be just one, the awakening has peritoneal dialysis as the “anti-death” like a rebir th for life.

This article aims to present the main action and interaction strategies that patients with chronic kidney disease use to cope with peritoneal dialysis. Symbolic Interactionism was chosen as the theoretical framework, as it values the meaning of interaction as a determinant of human behavior. Grounded Theory was used as the methodological framework. Data was collected using a semistructured interview script. The interviews were recorded, transcribed, coded and organized to comprise the explanatory theory for the phenomenon studied. Several resources used by the clients were identified during the analysis, such as their need to obtain information about peritoneal dialysis, their refuge in spirituality, and the delusion of a cure. The importance of a support network is highlighted, in which nurses may work as facilitators of the coping process, in order to help patients to adapt to their new context. 1 Nurse.

Article extracted from a Masters dissertation whose objective was to characterize the interaction of nurses with nursing diagnoses in neurosurgical oncology, considering behaviors, expressions, attitudes and practices. The participants were sixteen nurses who work with equal or more than five years in neurosurgical oncology at the National Cancer Institute. The Symbolic Interactionism was used as the theoretical framework, and the Grounded Theory, as a methodological approach. The findings indicate that the nurse is unveiling possibilities of caring for the client of neurosurgical oncology, not only in the perspective of suffering, but especially from the perspective of existential care, covering their needs and singularities, and respecting their limitations.Article extracted from a Master’s dissertation whose objective was to characterize the interaction of nurses with nursing diagnoses in neurosurgical oncology, considering behaviors, expressions, attitudes and practices.
