In this paper, performance analysis of wireless communication over α−η−μ fading channels has been investigated. First, analysis has been carried out for the case when communication is subjected to the influence of co-channel interference. Closed-form expressions have been derived for the probability density function and cumulative distribution function of the received signal-to-interference ratio. Outage probability has been obtained for this case, in the function of various values of system parameters, and also for the case when selection diversity has been presented at the reception. Further, simultaneous multipath fading and shadowing occurrence has been analyzed, through deriving novel composite Gamma long-time faded α−η−μ fading distribution. First-order statistical parameters have been obtained in closed form, for this novel composite distribution, and capitalizing on them, standard performance measures have been efficiently evaluated, graphically presented and discussed in the function of system parameters.

In this paper the performances of generalized selection combining (GSC) was observed. Combiner has three inputs. The two strongest signals are isolated and added. For this combiner the probability density function of the output signal, the outage probability and the error probability was analytically derived and graphically presented. The presence of Hoyt (Nakagami-q) fading at the inputs of generalized selection combiner was observed.

The expressions for probability density function (PDF) of the Switch and Stay Combiner (SSC) output signal to noise ratio (SNR) at one time instant and the joint probability density function of the SSC combiner output signal to noise ratio at two time instants in the presence of α-μ fading are determined in this paper. Then, these expressions are used for calculation of the Outage probability and Amount of fading for complex Switch and Stay Combining/Maximal Ratio Combining (SSC/MRC) combiner versus some parameter values. The results are shown graphically in some figures and the analysis of the parameters influence and different types of combiners is given.

In this paper an approach to the performance analysis of wireless transmission over the Ricean fading channels experiencing an arbitrary number of multiple Ricean co-channel interferers is presented. Useful closed form expressions are derived for the probability density function (PDF) and cumulative distribution function (CDF), average error probabilities (ABEP) over some coherent and non-coherent frequency and phase- shift keying modulation schemes in interference limited system. Selection diversity reception effect on the performance improvement for various values of fading severity is also investigated.

The time derivatives probability density functions (PDF) of the Switch and Stay Combining (SSC) combiner output signals at two time instants in the presence of Rayleigh fading are determined in this paper. The dual branch SSC combiner is considered. The second-order statistics (the average level crossing rate, the average fade duration) can be calculated using obtained closed-form expressions.

In this paper, the performances of generalized selection combining (GSC) will be observed. Combiner has three inputs. The two strongest signals are isolated and added. For this combiner the probability density function for the output signal, characteristic function and moments for the output signals will be derived and the error probability for BPSK modulation will be determined when log-normal fading is present at the input. The error probability curves will be presented.
