Visão de profissionais e estudantes da área de saúde sobre a interface saúde e meio ambiente

This article presents the view health area professionals and students have concerning the interface between health and the environment. It is a qualitative, descriptive study undertaken with different social players that are part of the vocational training process in the health care area in a municipality in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The data were collected through a semistructured interview comprising gui-ding questions on the study subject and carried out among hospital workers, nurses, health care professors and students, and community health agents. Each subproject was analyzed individually based on the content analysis framework. The results show that the subjects have dichotomous views on the environment and acknowledge the adverse effects of the current environmental crisis, claiming that human beings are the main cause of it. The study subjects understand that there is a narrow interface between health and the environment and that the economically less privileged populations are those most affected by environmental damage. It is concluded that deepening the debate on the subject in the process of providing training and professional practice in health is fundamental in order to seek effective socioenvironmental responsibility among the social players involved in the sector.

Percepção de docentes enfermeiros sobre a problemática ambiental: subsídios para a formação profissional em enfermagem

E-mail: gracieleerthal@ gmail.com RESUMO: O estudo objetiva compreender a percepcao de docentes enfermeiros sobre a atual problematica ambiental, no intuito de obter subsidios para reflexoes sobre a formacao profissional em enfermagem. Trata-se de uma pesquisa com abordagem qualitativa, do tipo descritivo-exploratoria, realizada com docentes enfermeiros de um curso de enfermagem. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevista semiestruturada e analisados de acordo com as etapas da analise de conteudo. Os docentes possuem uma concepcao de meio ambiente como espaco de interacao e local para existencia humana. Tambem tem clareza acerca dos impactos da atual problematica ambiental sobre a vida humana, e suas consequencias, inclusive para a saude das pessoas. Compreendem que sua responsabilidade, no que tange as demandas ambientais e grande, havendo um entrelacamento entre a esfera individual e profissional. Conclui-se que essas questoes devem fazer parte da pratica educativa, na formacao de enfermeiros, no sentido de possibilitar a conscientizacao dos futuros profissionais. DESCRITORES: Enfermagem. This is a descriptive-explorative and qualitative research performed with nurses-professors from a Nursing Course. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed according to the content analysis steps. The teachers consider the environment as the interaction space and place for human existence. Also, they have clarity about the impact of current environmental problems on human life and its consequences, including peoples health. They understand that their responsibility, in relation to the environmental demands, is great and there is an interlacing between individual and professional spheres. It is concluded that these issues must be part of the educational practice of nurses training in order to enable the awareness of future professionals. DESCRIPTORS: Nursing. Nursing education. The perception of students of the area of health about the environmental problems: a descriptive study

Objetivo: o estudo objetivou conhecer o que pensam os academicos da area da saude sobre a problematica ambiental. Metodo: Pesquisa descritiva, de abordagem qualitativa, realizada com academicos da area da saude, de uma instituicao de ensino superior. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevista semi-estruturada, e analisados com base no referencial de analise de conteudo. Resultados: os dados evidenciam uma concepcao polarizada sobre o meio ambiente, entre uma visao de interacao e uma visao naturalizada. Os sujeitos encontram-se impactados pela atual problematica ecologica e identificam o ser humano e identificado como causador dos problemas ambientais. Destacam algumas acoes de preservacao ambiental como fundamentais, mas tambem questionam a ineficiencia do poder publico em relacao ao tema. Conclusao: a ampliacao da discussao sobre a tematica e fundamental, a fim de estimular um processo reflexivo sobre a responsabilidade socioambiental, por parte dos academicos da area da saude.

Enfermagem e meio ambiente: uma revisão bibliográfica

The study aimed identify national scientific production on nursing and environment interface. This is a descriptive bibliographical research, whose data were collected in the databases SCIELO and LILACS, BDENF. This study’s body analysis consisted in 32 articles published in nursing periodicals in the period 1993-2010. The articles’ analysis enabled to evidence three main categories existence: Educational Actions Development, Professional Training and Health Services’ Solid Waste Management. It was concluded that Nursing field should approach the environmental thematic, proposing pedagogical strategies that involve professionals’ awareness

A abordagem da interface saúde e meio ambiente na formação profissional de enfermeiros

O objetivo do estudo foi conhecer a percepcao de docentes enfermeiras acerca da interface saude e meio ambiente. Estudo descritivo com abordagem qualitativa desenvolvido com seis docentes enfermeiras de diferentes areas de atuacao no processo de formacao de enfermeiros. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevista semi-estruturada, em 2010, e passaram por um processo de analise de conteudo. A analise dos dados possibilitou a emergencia de categorias, sendo elas: Interface saude e meio ambiente: uma relacao de causa e consequencia; Discussao sobre a questao saude e meio ambiente na formacao profissional: uma lacuna no processo formativo; saude e meio ambiente: um conteudo transversal. As docentes, a partir do entendimento de que ha interacao entre saude e meio ambiente, enfatizam que o meio ambiente deve ser uma tematica transversal na proposta curricular do Curso de Enfermagem, uma vez que, evidenciam lacunas na abordagem do assuntoThis study aimed to know how nursing professors perceive the interface between health and environment. This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach developed with six nursing professors from different areas in the process of training nurses. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews in 2010 and underwent a process of content analysis. The data analysis allowed the emergence of categories, namely: Health and environmental interface: a relation of cause and consequence, Discussion on the issue of health and environment in vocational training: a gap in the educational process, and Health and environment a cross-sectional content. Based on the understanding that there is interaction between health and environment, the professors emphasize that the environment should be a cross-sectional theme in the curriculum proposal for the Nursing undergraduate major, since they show gaps in addressing the issue.

Interface between health and environment in professional education in health

Objective: To understand the conception in the academic health area about the health and environment interface, and how this is expressed in the academic experience. Methods: A qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study, conducted with 24 students in the area of health of a public institution of higher education. The data collected, during the period from August to September 2010, by means of semi-structured interviews, were analyzed according to the reference of content analysis. Results: Subjects related understanding that there was a strong interface between health and environment. They pointed out that the socioeconomically disadvantaged populations are more predisposed to the effects of environmental problems, which led to the occurrence of many diseases. Some subjects, however, had difficulty in expressing an idea about the theme. Conclusion: A thematic approach is necessary in the educational process of health professionals, aiming at the acquisition of social and environmental responsibility.OBJETIVO: Conocer la concepcion de academicos del area de la salud sobre la interfaz salud y medio ambiente, y como se expresa en su vivencia academica. METODOS: Estudio de abordaje cualitativo, descritivo-exploratorio, realizado con 24 academicos del area de la salud de una institucion publica de ensenanza superior. Los datos recolectados, en el periodo de agosto a setiembre de 2010, por medio de una entrevista semi-estructurada fueron analizados de acuerdo con el referencial del analisis de contenido. RESULTADOS: Los sujetos relataron comprender que hay una estrecha interfaz entre salud y medio ambiente. Apuntaron que las poblaciones menos favorecidas socioeconomicamente estan mas predispuestas a los efectos de la problematica ambiental, lo que lleva a la ocurrencia de muchas enfermedades. Algunos sujetos, entre tanto, presentaron dificultad para manifestar una idea sobre el tema. CONCLUSION: Es necesario un abordaje de la tematica en el proceso formativo de los profesionales del area de la salud, visando a la adquisicion de responsabilidad socioambiental.
