Participation of Agribusiness Stakeholders in Global Sustainability Questions: The Case of Climate Change and Bioenergy in Brazil

Stakeholders are increasingly leading firms into the consideration of sustainability issues with local, national, and global ramifications. Managers in many nations are increasingly seeing global sustainability issues as legitimate concerns for their businesses. This chapter accepts behavior at the level of individual managers and individual stakeholders as critical in addressing global climate change and focuses on the need for individuals and institutions to engage in dialogues about climate change and agribusiness—dialogues involving stakeholders from different areas of knowledge and with different interests.
