Present state of yusho patients.

“Yusho” is the Japanese term for a notorious mass case of PCB poisoning that occurred in Japan in 1968 as the result of distributing cooking oil, Kanemi Rice Oil, which had been polluted with PCB. At the beginning of the outbreak the hazard was limited to the western part of Japan, particularly Kyushu, where the contaminated Kanemi Rice Oil was intensively marketed. Tracking down the culpable substance and the treatment of the patients were soon undertaken by large-scale collaborative teams from Kyushu University. The history and present status of the catastrophe was stated.

Über einen fall von histiocytic medullary reticulosis

SummaryA case of histiocytic medullary reticulosis in a 20-year-old woman is described. This is the first dermatologic case in Japan.From our investigation it is suggested that skin lesions are the primary change in this case and that histiocytic medullary reticulosis should be regarded as a variant of malignant reticulohistiocytosis.ZusammenfassungEs wird über eine 20jährige Patientin mit einer “histiocytic medullary reticulosis” berichtet, die von uns als erster Fall auf dem dermatologischen Gebiet in Japan angesehen wird.Aus unseren Untersuchungen ist ersichtlich, daß bei diesem Fall die Hautveränderung primär auftreten kann, und daß diese Krankheit als eine Variante der malignen Reticulohistiocytose zu betrachten ist.

Dermal Duct Tumor

36才女性の左前額部に生じたdermal duct tumorを報告した。その光顕的, 電顕的所見は本症の表皮内汗管由来の可能性を強く示唆するものであつた。また本症は病理組続学的にもその構築は特異的で, 一方わが国の報告例をみるとその臨床的事項にも多くの共通点がみとめられる。このようなことからわれわれは本症を臨床的, 病理組織学的にひとつの独立したentityとして取りあつかうべきであると考えた。

Statistical Survey of Syphilis at Dermatological Clinic of Kyushu University Hospital over the Past Fifteen Years (1960-1974)

The statistical survey of syphilis at Dermatological Clinic of Kyushu University Hospital over the past fifteen years (1960-1974) was reported. Patients with syphilis lesions were only two for the last five years.

Effect of Cephalexin on Virulent Treponema pallidum

Cephalexin(CEX)の病原性Treponema palidum(T.P.)にたいする効果について検討し，つぎの成績をえた。 1)実験家免梅毒にCEX 80mg/kg 1日をそれぞれ2日間，5日間および10日間経口投与し，VDRL抗体価の推移をみた。5日間および10日間投与群では抗体価の急速な下降がみられたが，2日間投与群では改善があまりみられなかつた。 2)梅毒性睾丸炎は治療開始後10日目には治癒した。また病巣部のT.P.も治療開始後2日目にはすべて不動化されていた。 3)TPIテストを応用して試験管内抗菌力を調べたところ，CEX 0.002μg/mlでT.P.は100%不動化，0.001μg/mlで70%の不動化をみた。 4)混合下疳，硬性下疳，先天梅毒，早期および晩期潜伏梅毒の5症例をCEXで治療し，penicillinに匹敵する治療効果を認めた。
