Objective: To analyze the interface of ethic in the construction of a technological concept. Methods: This is descriptive research with a qualitative approach, developed by means of analyzing a data bank. After gathering the data, were categorized and analyzed according to the theoretical content analysis; two categories emerged: ethics and the use of technology in nursing, and, ethical care and the technology of nursing. Results: Through reflection and considering the humane needs and professional practice, the study highlighted the importance of evaluating and the deciding which technology incorporate into care. Conclusion: Was learned that the interface between ethics and technology in nursing is established during professional action and through the act of care.

Objective: To analyze mortality related to infections in the use of central venous catheters in newborns and hospitalized children. Methods: This was a systematic review, using studies that were identified in the databases of MEDLINE, EMBASE, Lilacs, CINAHL, SciELO and Cochrane, in bibliographical references of articles, and other reviews. Two reviewers independently identified relevant studies, analyzed the methodological quality, and subsequently, extracted data. Results: We encountered 1,000 articles, of which 16 were related to catheter infection and only two mentioned mortality. Findings of these two studies verified that sepsis was the principal complication related to the use of central venous catheters, and the most prevalent microorganisms in these infections were Candida sp. and Enterococcus sp., with significant impact on neonatal and child mortality. Conclusion: It was observed in this review that sepsis was most prevalent complication related to central catheters.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effectiveness of enteral nutritional therapy (ENT) in the healing process of pressure ulcers (PU) in adults and the elderly. METHOD A systematic review whose studies were identified through the databases of Cochrane, MEDLINE/PubMed, SciELO, LILACS, EMBASE, CINAHL, Web of Science, and manual searches. It included randomized clinical trials (RCTs) without delimiting the period or language of publication, which addressed adults and elderly patients with pressure ulcers in a comparative treatment of enteral nutritional therapy and placebo or between enteral nutritional therapy with different compositions and dosages. RESULTS We included ten studies that considered different interventions. It resulted in more pressure ulcers healed in the groups that received the intervention. The included studies were heterogeneous with regard to patients, the type of intervention, the sample and the follow-up period, all of which made meta-analysis impossible. CONCLUSION Although the enteral nutritional therapy demonstrates a promotion of pressure ulcer healing, sufficient evidence to confirm the hypothesis was not found.OBJETIVO Avaliar a efetividade da terapia nutricional enteral no processo de cicatrizacao das ulceras por pressao em adultos e idosos.

Objective to evaluate the effectiveness of hydrocolloids in the healing of pressure ulcers in adult and older adult patients. Method systematic review with meta-analysis, based on the recommendations of the Cochrane Handbook. The search was undertaken in the databases: Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS), Cochrane Database, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Web of Science and the Scientific Electronic Library Online. Results 646 primary studies were identified, 69 were evaluated and nine were selected, referring to the use of the hydrocolloid dressing in healing; of these, four studies allowed meta-analysis. There was no statistically significant difference between the hydrocolloid group and the foams group (p value=0.84; Odds Ratio 1.06, CI 95% 0.61-1.86). A slight superiority of the polyurethane dressings was observed in relation to the hydrocolloid dressings. Conclusion the evidence is not sufficient to affirm whether the efficacy of hydrocolloid dressings is superior to that of other dressings. It is suggested that clinical randomized trials be undertaken so as to ascertain the efficacy of this intervention in the healing of pressure ulcers, in relation to other treatments.OBJETIVO: evaluar la efectividad del hidrocoloide en la cicatrizacion de ulcera por presion en pacientes adultos y ancianos.
