This study seeks to highlight the key role played by an entrepreneurship education (EE) program on entrepreneurial competencies and intention of secondary students in order to confirm (or disconfirm) conventional wisdom that entrepreneurial education increases the intention to start a business. We used a pretest–posttest quasi‐experimental design. The results confirm our hypotheses; the students in the “experimental” group increased their competencies and intention toward self‐employment, whereas students in the “control” group did not. The findings contribute to the theories of planned behavior, and to the literature of EE itself, by revealing the effect of specific benefits for the students derived from the EE program.

In this article, a leadership model is presented, with which to investigate the relationship of trait emotional intelligence (trait EI), leadership self-efficacy and leaders task self-efficacy with collective task efficacy and group performance. The sample was made up of 217 undergraduate students, randomly assigned to work teams of 1 leader and 2 followers that were requested to perform a production task. An adapted version of the Schutte Self-Report Inventory (SSRI; Schutte et al., 1998) was used to measure trait EI. Structural equation modeling was used to test the hypothesized relationships. Results indicated that task self-efficacy was a mediator between leadership self-efficacy and collective task efficacy; the latter, in turn, was the best predictor of group performance. No significant relationship was found between trait EI and collective task efficacy although, unexpectedly, trait EI was positively associated with leadership self-efficacy. Implications of the results are discussed.

This article presents the design and preparation using hypermedia tools of an interactive CD-ROM for the active teaching and learning of diverse problem-solving strategies in Mathematics for secondary school students. The use of the CD-ROM allows the students to learn, interactively, the heuristic style of solving problems. A range of problems has been used, each of which requires different solving strategies. A complementary section for consulting the theoretical foundations for the process of solving problems and other related information is also included on the CD-ROM. This section provides both theoretical and curriculum support for teachers.

The present work attempts to examine the different cultural patterns and factors of Spanish and Portuguese university students in terms of their respective intentions either to become self-employed or to launch their own businesses. As tested in numerous studies, entrepreneurial intentions stem from various different psychological and socio-cultural factors that collectively shape such motivations. Thus, whilst aware that entrepreneurship and employment rates prove very unfavorable in Portugal and Spain, we seek to establish whether the factors subject to study in the scientific literature illuminate and portray differential patterns between these two countries.
