EnglishThe factor structure of the Rotters Locus of Control Scale in Mexican university students is analyzed. The sample consisted of 1537 participants; all of them students of the degree of Physical Education and Human Motricity offered at the Autonomous University of Chihuahua in Mexico, with a mean age of 20.56 years. Psychometric analysis showed that a tetra-factorial structure was adequate. The factorial structure of the questionnaire was analyzed with confirmatory factor analysis. The structure of the four factors (luck, political power, destiny and interpersonal relationships) showed adequate indicators of validity adjustment. In addition, factor analysis conducted with subsamples indicated the presence of strong evidence of factor structure stability.

EnglishThe present study analyzes the possibility of duplicating the psychometric results for the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Inventory. The total sample comprised 1307 participants; all of them students of the degree of Physical Education and Human Motricity offered at the Autonomous University of Chihuahua, with a mean age of 20.46 years. Psychometric analysis showed that a Three -factorial structure was viable and adequate. The factorial structure of the questionnaire was analyzed with confirmatory factor analysis. The structure of the three factors (cognitive, sleep disorders and somatic symptoms), attending to substantive and statistic criteria, showed adequate indicators of adjustment of reliability and validity. In addition, factor analysis conducted with subsamples indicated the presence of strong evidence of factor structure stability. Future research should replicate these findings in larger samples.

The present study aims to investigate whether the psychometric results proposed for the Spanish version of the scales of Psychological Well-being Ryff. The total sample was 1528 Mexican university, with an average age of 20.56 years (SD = 1.87). The factorial structure of the questionnaire was analyzed through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Analyses show that three factors is feasible and appropriate. The structure of three factors (personal growth, positive relationships and self-acceptance), based on statistical and substantive criteria, and has shown adequate adjustment indicators of reliability and validity. However, the model does not match the obtained raised by the reference version. Future research should replicate these findings in larger samples. * Facultad de Ciencias de la Cultura Física. Martha Ornelas; Gabriel Gastélum; Jeanette López-Walle; Judith Margarita Rodríguez-Villalobos

In the present study the possibility of replicate the psychometric results proposed by Lasher and Faulkender for Anxiety Aging Scale, in a group of Mexican university students. The total sample comprised 825 participants with a mean age of 20.8 years. All of them were male students of the majors in Physical Education and in Human Motricity offered at the Autonomous University of Chihuahua in Mexico. The factorial structure of the questionnaire was analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis. The psychometric analysis showed that a tetra-factorial structure was adequate since through statistic criteria it showed adequate indicators of reliability and validity. The four factors were: (i) fear of old people; (ii) physical appearance; (iii) fear of losses; and (iv) psychological concerns. In addition to this, factor analysis conducted with subsamples indicated the presence of strong evidence of factor structure stability.

Juan F Aguirre; José R Blanco; Judith Margarita Rodríguez-Villalobos; Martha Ornelas

The aim of the present study was to compare the profiles of general perceived self-efficacy between men and women mexican university students. A total sample of 282 participants, 142 women and 140 men with a mean age of 20 and 21 years, respectively, participated in this study. A quantitative approach with a descriptive and transversal survey design was applied. The results of the one-way multivariate analysis of variance, followed by the one-way univariate analyses of variance, showed that women reported statistically significant higher punctuations than men regarding the perceived self-efficacy and greatest need and ability to be more self-efficacious. Differences found between men and women regarding their perceived selfefficacy, suggest that any effort to improve perceived self-efficacy must take gender into consideration.
