The development of image processing technology is well developed today, such as object recognition in an images. Algorithm to obtain accurate results in object recognition continues to be developed. One example is the handwriting recognition application. This application is usually used to archive records or documents from physical form such as a notebook or a letter in the form of files digital. One of the initial process in image processing is image segmentation, and one of the methods used is skeletonizaton.

Alphanumerical password is the password scheme that obligates the users to enter characters as their password. In spite of its popularity, alphanumerical password usually can be cracked easily when it is used by novice users. Since these users usually type their password slowly, unauthorized person can get the password easily by observing the movement of the users’ finger as they entering the password. A graphical password is proposed to replace the alphanumerical password. From the experiment it can be shown that none of users graphical password can be cracked, meanwhile 80% of the users’ alphanumerical password can be cracked by the researcher. However in average, users need only 4.68 seconds to enter the password in alphanumerical password scheme, meanwhile in graphical password scheme it takes about 39.06 seconds. Hence password entry in the graphical password scheme needs about 8 times longer than in alphanumerical password. Based on this fact, the graphical password may still be considered to be used in applications that do not need a rapid password entry and the system security is becoming the main issue.

These days traditional thing has been left behind not only by adults but also by children. One of them is folklore. It disappears because its package cannot interest the people. It needs a better package that interests a lot of people, for example game. The game took folklore theme that would teach the children about morale values. This game was made based on PC game because electronic device are increasingly in demand and with adventure game-based which is a game genre that a lot of people like including the children. This game was made by Unity3D which is can place the objects that we use easier. Besides, camera setting which is a feature of Unity3D can make the setting of the 2D graphics easier. First of all, the folklores need to be parted into the playable-part and the non-playable-part. In playable-part, the player needs to solve some tasks to play the next folklore. In non-playable-part, the game will show an animation. This folklore game can interests the children to become a better person from the morale value. But, it is hard to implement folklore into adventure game for some folklores. For example Origin of Mahakam River’s Creek that has some complicated detail to express the setting of the story.

In the university, college students must be register for their classes. But there still many college student that was confused on how to make a good classes schedule for themselves. Mainly because of many variables and considerations to be made, for examples, they have to consider how hard the classes they are going to take, and also, they still have to consider their exam schedules and also their availability time as well. Genetic Algorithm is one of many methods that can be used to create a schedule. This method determines the best schedule using fitness cost calculation which can compare the quality of one schedule against the other. Then, using crossover, mutation, and elitism selections, we can determine better schedules. Based on the result of the survey held before, 70% of the respondents gave point 4 and 30% of the respondents gave point 5 out of 5 for the quality of the schedule made using this applications.

Three main processes in Natural Language Processing are syntax analysis or parsing, semantic interpretation and contextual interpretation. This paper discuss about the first and the second of these processes. Parsing is the recognition of the sentence structure based on a grammar and a lexicon. Parsing can be done in either top-down or bottom-up methods, each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Top-down parsers can not handle grammar with left-recursion, where bottomup parsers can not handle grammar with empty production. The best parsers combine these two

This paper presents a project of Web-based Distance Learning support system. The system has been built based on the Internet and World Wide Web facility. The system could be accessed with a web browser which is directed to a certain web server address so that students can do learning process just like in the real situation, such as student admissions, taking course materials, syllabus, assignments, students grades, class discussions through web, and doing online quizzes. Students could also join collaboration works by giving opinions, feedback and student produced paper/web which can be shared to the entire learning community. Therefore, it will build a collaborative learning environment where lectures together with students make constructive knowledge databases for entire learning community. This system has been developed based on Active Server Pages (ASP) technology from Microsoft which is embedded in a web server. Web pages reside in a web server which is connected to an SQL Database Server. Database server is used to store structured data such as lectures/students personal information, course lists, syllabus and its descriptions, announcement texts from lecturers, commentaries for discussion forum, student’s study evaluations, scores for each assignment, quizzes for each course, assignments text from lectures, assignments which are collected by students and students contribution/materials. This system has been maintained by an administrator for maintaining and developing web pages using HTML. The administrator also does ASP scripts programming to convert web pages into active server pages. Lectures and students could contribute some course materials and share their ideas through their web browser. This web-based collaborative learning system gives the students more active role in the information gathering and learning process, making the distance students feel part of a learning community, therefore increasing motivation, comprehension and interaction with other students.Nowadays, most of the information is still in printed format. To reproduce it in the electronic form, we need an efficient way to save the scanned document. For this purpose, AT & T Labs has been developing a new technology called DjVu. In this paper, we try to compare DjVu and JPG format. The goal is to decide whether DjVu is better or not. To achieve the goal, we try to scan the document and save it in DjVu and JPG format, make comparison between these two based on file size and image quality. Comparison is done for three types of document, such as b/w photo, document with text, and document in colour. The conclusion is, DjVu format is better than JPG in file size and quite good in image quality. So, DjVu have a chance to become a new standart.
