The genus Thambemyia Oldroyd is revised. Five species are recognized. Three new species –T. bisetosa, T. bruneiensis and T. hui– are described, and T. pagdeni Oldroyd, 1956 is redescribed. A new subgenus is founded for one new Japanese species, T. (Prothambemyia) japonica. A key to all known species of the genus is provided. Their distributions are also discussed.

Abstract A new species of Nepalomyia Hollis, 1964, N. nantouensis, is described from Taiwan. Further record of a recently described Taiwanese species, N. horvati Wang and Yang, 2004, is also included. A key is given for the species from Taiwan.

Abstract The genus Thambemyia Oldroyd is reported on Chinese mainland for the first time with one known species (T. rectus) and one new species for science (T. shandongensis sp. nov.). A key to the three species of the genus from China is provided.
